Constructive, thorough critique for each clip. You know the drill. Take it away!
Also, just for simplicity's sake, you may critique your own clips in here as well.

I've been a bit busy lately so extended critiques will have to have to wait for another time, I'm afraid, but to make a couple of brief comments:
-I'm quietly resentful of the final Higurashi clip. It's a very fitting clip, certainly, but the trouble is I was planning something similar and now the march has been stolen on me. :(
-"Ritsuko Shot First" is interesting - now there have been three separate clips on that very same scene - "Gendowned!", Geiko, and this one. How much more can be mined from it, I wonder? ;)

Love the AMV Hell series, had to register just to post on this. :D Standard disclaimer: These are opinions, don't take them too seriously.
Clip 1: This clip made me want to look up the anime it's from so I would count that as a win. The clips fit perfectly, and the song is just awesome.
Clip 2: Most of the DBZ clips have cracked me up. This one didn't fail. The look on Krillen's face makes the clip, it's an excellent moment to freeze. That and "so then you'll have to **** sideways".
Clip 3: Erm...I like the song but that's about all I can say about this clip. Guess I'd have to see the series to get the joke outside of the fact that he's blond.
Clip 4: Hehe. Good concept, good execution. Would have been interested if you had edited in a visual reaction from Rei (big eyes or something). Probably could have also done something different with the font but that's just being nitpicky.
Clip 5: More of an oooookaaay moment then anything. Still kinda funny. Again, would probably help if I'd seen the series.
Clip 6: I was kinda disappointed with this one. The song was a bit too cheesy. Was ok, but didn't really get a laugh out of me. Most of the Hellsing clips I've liked, but they played off the creepiness of the series rather than cheesing it up. "I'm a hungry man but I don't want pizza." ...no. Just no.
Clip 7: Perfect. Short, sweet, and unexpected.
Clip 8: Eh...don't get me wrong, I like Eva, and I like invader Zim, but the audio clip was the primary point of the joke and the video didn't really add anything to it.
Clip 9: Kinda funny, but probably should have ended at the first fall. The joke lost most of it's punch by the end of the clip.
Clip 10: This...is the twisted sense of humor we've come to expect from AMV Hell. Again, short and sweet.
Clip 11: Got me curious about the series because it somehow made me think it was a cheery magical girl anime that was overly violent. Action clips fit very well.
Clip 12: Eh. I get the the fact that it's trying to pull off a "that's pretty much what happened" moment, but just felt kinda lame. Maybe I'd have to recognize the sound clip for it to be funny like the planet of the apes one.
Clip 13: Ok, but God that voice is annoying.
Clip 14: Would have been funnier, but the same joke has already been done a couple of times with different songs. Kind of expected by this point.
Clip 15: You sick ****. It was perfect.
Clip 16: I couldn't breath after this one. This is how a "that's pretty much what happened clip" should be.

I wanted to see her falling even more. That clip looked way too short for me.
So OK, the best AMV minis 3 clips in order of Win:
http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/4089/amvminis5.gif
If youre asking why those clips do not suck -
#1 because kinky song + kinky pics = epic win. However video quality kinda sucks
#2 because Science rules!
#3 awesome song + nice pics + nice montage
#4 coz Excel is so gay. Also great video quality
#5 so kawaii jackpot
All other clips generally suck. And when I say that they suck, I mean it!
Don't forget that this is not mine opinion. The Lord from above told me what to write here. If someone's opinion does not 100 % meet with opinion stated above - you will burn in hell for entire eternity.
Thanks for watching. See ya in hell :D

you and me both, I was actually mostly done with my Higurashi/TF2 clip and now I have to do something else... maybe L4D/Hare+Guu
personally though the Ritsuko shot first clip I liked, stop outside of the bounds of amvhell and it turns out that clip can be milked for quite a bit

Most of mine I gave suggestions on, or at least told what I liked about em. Just making a comment about liking the song or the clip flow may not seem like much but either of those can ruin it.

I'm not very good when it comes to giving out proper critiques, so I'll just list the top 5 clips that made me laugh hard
5. Clip 11. Excellent montage with an anime I have no idea what the plot is
4. Clip 15. I thought it was funny because I just watched that Family Guy episode no more than a few weeks ago
3. Clip 14. This one was funny to me because you think he's gonna hit the ground, but instead, get's shot in the head...AND THEN hits the ground
2. Clip 9. Most Excel Saga AMVs I've seen in the past few years just sucked, but this one redeemed itself and made me laugh hard. Good timing with the screen shakes
1. Clip 16. I don't play that much TF2 and I didn't watch a lot of Higurashi to understand what's going on here, but this has go to be a very big surprise for any AMV enthusiast out there. It made me laugh so hard that I thought I was gonna crap my pants
And there you have it. Maybe I should start working on my two AMV ideas when I get back from work today. I want people to criticize my AMVs and see what I need to improve on

Yours are off to a good start as well. The more thorough, the better. That's my take on it.
I can see where sometimes not much needs to be said. I can understand that. Doesn't hurt to try, though. :) I, personally, like to dedicate a short paragraph to one or two clips at a time (time permitting, of course).

My Clip 1:
Anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion
Audio: Invader Zim sound clip
There are two versions of this clip out there, one without the "Oooooh" and one with the "ooooh" as per Doominus' request. I thought this audio went with the scene of the introduction of the Eva, I thought it could have done better if I could have a scene where Shinji and Gendo were in the same scene, but alas none that would fit within context (dont flame me for forgetting the episode where Gendo and Shinji visit Yui's grave).
Clip 2:
Anime: End of Evangelion
Audio: Troll 2 sound clip
My affinity for bad 80's horror movies shows here (just like in my EoE, Silent Night, Deadly Night 2 clip which was rejected for unknown reasons). I do think the lipping could have been better for the dialogue though.
Clip 3:
Creator: scarmullet
Anime: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Audio: Family Guy sound clip
If any of you wondered why there was no audio in the part where it shows Kyon's sister, its because when I ripped my Haruhi DVDs, the audio part of this episode was......****ed up.

I've actually reconsidered my suggestion on the Excel Saga one. Instead of shortening, after the first fall change the scene. Someone has already used the rocket one, but I think using the scene where she gets dropped down the pit would have worked well instead of just repeating the first one.
scarmullet: To be perfectly honest, the sound not being there in the first part of that clip didn't take much away from it. If me it just kind of added a feeling of "where is this going..." followed by promptly falling out of my chair. Wasn't a big fan of the other two (again, the second one I probably would just have to have seen Trolls 2, but that one was perfect.

Consider also that this is actually Hyatt in Excel's body, so it should be obvious enough that while she's quite enthusiastic about having this powerful, indestructible body, she's still getting used to it (hence her constantly smashing into things). I didn't really have a punchline in mind for this one, just light-hearted, goofy slapstick, though I can understand why others might not get such a kick out of it. There's actually another, more morbid and ironic version of this, which features Excel (in Hyatt's body) vomiting blood and shriveling up into a dried-up corpse while Hyatt (in Excel's body) sings "And I pity any girl who isn't me today." I decided to go with the goofier one because I felt AMV Minis could a little more, well... happy.
I agree with you regarding the sound on the Haruhi clip. Really all you need is the wink and the "Jackpot" line. Comic gold. :D

5. Meloncholy/Let me borrow that top. A great idea, greatly execuded
4. The first two Evangelion clips (Eva/Zim and Eva/Ritsuko Shot First). Both were so good, it's a tie.
3. Excel Saga/I Feel Pretty. It fits the character so well :D
2. Moyashimon/Bill Nye the Science Guy. Simplicity at its finest.
1. Hirugashi/Team Fortress. It was original, and the best timed AMV of them all.
Also, I'll accept any criticism on my clip (the FMA/Dunham clip), good or bad.

Ahhhh, ok that makes allot more sense now. Hadn't seen the series recently enough to remember that's what the scene is from...heh, ok re-watching it now that is actually pretty funny. XD Without thinking about that it was just kind of like, "yes yes, we know Excel is a ditz."

Yar. In cases like this, it helps to get the inside joke, although some of the best clips out there don't even need an inside joke in order to be funny. I thought the Eva/Sugar Cookies clip from Episode 2 was an excellent example. I hadn't heard or seen either source and I still thought it was hilarious.
Oo! Here's a thought: If there isn't one already, maybe we should consider making an AMV Hell/Minis Cliffnotes Edition that explains the more obscure jokes.

As kapparomeo sort of notes at the beginning of this thread, the font was actually a throw-back to the old Gendowned video so the font was borrowed from that. Well I mean, not directly borrowed because I wasn't the one who created that clip so I had to just sort of guess xD...

Well, I finally found the time to sit down and contribute some commentary. A few thoughts on each clip follow:
----------------------
----------------------
"Bill Nye"
You could almost imagine this clip being an actual OP sequence - it's timed and pitched perfectly, not just in the shot-changes but the very action within the shots follows the flow of the music and lyrics. Genuinely hard to criticise!
"****!"
A simple and oft-repeated idea, but that makes it gently familiar and comfortable. It's successfully conveyed, executed economically and it doesn't try to overextend itself. However, there is a fluff with the lip-syncing towards the end - after "**** sideways", the character's mouth keeps moving.
"Mellow Yellow"
A good build-up with the looks of shock matching the drumbeat; The hair has such blazing unreal colour that the slightly detached, dreamy voice (and the change in language from the spoken dialogue setting up further distance) is actually strangely fitting.
"Ritsuko Shot First"
As I said before, this clip is humorous not just for the joke itself but also for the fact that we've been able to get so much mileage - three full clips - out of the same single scene! Just how far can we push it, twisting it into evermore convoluted knots? It should be a challenge for the next edition, or interval breaks in AMV Hell 5!
"Some Weird Plastic Luchador... Thing"
Quick-footed editing makes this clip work - not giving the eye time to settle on and properly study the mutant, it keeps up a surreal quality which the nonsense-sounds of the lyrics stir up suitably.
"Eat'cha!"
On my first watch I actually thought that this was great, shot through with a vein of creepy, crawling nastiness that embodies Alucard against a fittingly grim backdrop... but a remark earlier on in the thread spoiled it for me. "Don't want pizza?" It's kooky, but not spooky.
It's a shame, really, because I can't really quarrel with the composition of the clip, but now it's been pointed out to me that line sticks out like a sore thumb.
"Wasting Ten Seconds"
You bastard. I want those back.
Seriously, though, the vacant expressions and gormless mouths of the bacteria suit the theme well, and the moving bacteria flutter about to emphasise just how ephermeral it all is.
"Hunter-Destroyer Machine"
That sense of testy exasperation is probably how Gendo felt throughout much of the series. Here he is, orchestrating all of those elaborate plans and plots, yet this dumb kid just doesn't get it! Not laugh-out-loud funny, but it has a certain dryly observational humour to it.
"I Feel Pretty"
You know something? I never really noticed it before because she spends over half the anime in her daft Palazzo Army costume, but Excel actually is really pretty. :o
Anyway, Doominus's decision to go with the light-hearted version of this clip was definitely the right one. It's bouncy, spirited, and the comedy pratfalls just emphasise that no harm can come from it and that it's just all-round pleasant and happy. It didn't make me laugh, but it did make me smile.
"I Think I Blew My Foot Off"
Eh, sorry, but this just didn't tickle me in any way at all. It gets positive technical marks for finding an expression which matches the anxiety of the audio well, but beyond that it just falls flat. I can see the logic behind the clip - replace the audio of grim tragedy and drama in the series with a comedy voice and get a laugh from a voice that's appropriate but strangely unreal - but I'm afraid that it simply didn't work.
"Getting Away With Murder"
My undoubted favourite clip of the video. It should be an exemplar of the massive potential that can be tapped by editing, because this one surges with nothing short of electricty. The angel/devil contrasts, the whispered glimpses, the sly suggestions of quick-fingered roguish thievery, and the general editing skill in making a magical-girl anime seem a lot more drastic than it probably is, all sound in perfect harmony.
"Oh my Goooooooood..."
Sorry if this isn't the most detailed response, but in all honesty my response to this one is pretty much identical to the FMA clip.
As a general remark on this sort of clip - remember that it is the anime that is being cut. The humour is chiefly visual, so the laughs come from making the anime fit the audio, not the other way around (as is the case here).
"Let Me Borrow the Top"
Beavis is Haruhi's soulmate. They're both socially illiterate, insensitive, self-absorbed jerks! If anything, Haruhi's even worse because she can be oppressively overbearing, too. The strong correlation between their blindness to others makes this clip particularly effective - it also works better than the foot and Eva-eating clips by conveying a general mood, which is easier to absorb than a replayed scene.
"Freefalling"
A similar concept to the previous clip, relating more to the mood of the anime at that point than the actual script, and being more fulfilling because of it.
"Jackpot!"
It's a shame that the editor didn't sort out the differing aspect ratios between the different animation sources. However, I don't think that the lack of sound in the first shot was a problem - if anything, it improves it, giving it a cheeky, mischievous air; this sets up a good contrast between the innocent hide-and-seek of the first clip and the predatory nature of the second.
"Team Fortress Koro Ni"
There have been a couple of uses of FPS sound libraries in previous AMV Hells (Quake in 3 and Counterstrike in 4), so this concept isn't entirely original, but it's certainly done professionally and seamlessly, and with a good sense of fun to suit the more cartoony/moe style of the Higurashi characters. Credit to Zarxrax for arranging the video so that this clip came last, as the final suckering is an almost literal punchline! :)

What better way to start the clips than with an awesome opening theme song? :D

I'd say fundubs are an excellent point of reference for this sort of thing. The concept is essentially the same, at least as far as getting the most mileage out of a scene.
"Eat'cha!"
On my first watch I actually thought that this was great, shot through with a vein of creepy, crawling nastiness that embodies Alucard against a fittingly grim backdrop... but a remark earlier on in the thread spoiled it for me. "Don't want pizza?" It's kooky, but not spooky.

I actually think the "pizza" line is just ridiculous enough to be funny, especially as part of a rhyme scheme.
I laughed out loud, and I think having seen the original scene from Invader Zim helps me appreciate it more.
"I Feel Pretty"
You know something? I never really noticed it before because she spends over half the anime in her daft Palazzo Army costume, but Excel actually is really pretty. :o

Being possessed by Hyatt's spirit never hurt, either. :D
I'm glad I can at least get a smile out of this. I would've gone with the darker one with the more obvious punchline, but as I mentioned before, I thought more goofy light-heartedness was in order for this project. (Plus, who am I to resist turning Excel Saga into a musical?)
"I Think I Blew My Foot Off"
Eh, sorry, but this just didn't tickle me in any way at all. It gets positive technical marks for finding an expression which matches the anxiety of the audio well, but beyond that it just falls flat. I think that it's for that exact same reason that it worked. Well, just goes to show that we all respond differently to the same stimulus.
It sure had me fooled. XD Note to self: Do more research.
"Let Me Borrow the Top"

The strong correlation between their blindness to others makes this clip particularly effective - it also works better than the foot and Eva-eating clips by conveying a general mood, which is easier to absorb than a replayed scene.
Kelly's "Let Me Borrow That Top" provided great potential for hijinks, and I thought making them uniquely Haruhi would make them even funnier. What better way to express her friendship toward Mikuru than by grabbing her bustline? XD
"Jackpot!"
It's a shame that the editor didn't sort out the differing aspect ratios between the different animation sources. If I may be picky for just one moment... I think the sound for the second clip begins rather abruptly. A fade-in would fix that right up. Okay, I'm done.
There's something about anime characters bursting into song that just tickles me for some reason.
We could do with more song outside of OP/ED sequences, certainly - while it wouldn't be appropriate everywhere (having Shinji sing songs about his woe would puncture the sense of angst and misery completely), the opportunity to muse on music would add character in a lot of places.
I think this is one occasion where anime's cheapness works against it. It's hard enough getting anime characters to move their lips, never mind actually act - I doubt that you'd get many studios willing to draw all of those extras required for the big choreographed song'n'dance number with synchornised swimmers and dancing elephants and jugglers on top of the dancing elephants who are juggling backflipping gymnasts with hoops spinning on every limb. :sweatdrop:
One of the things pencilled into my "when I win the lottery" list, though, is to bankroll an anime production of The Mikado, classic Gilbert & Sullivan (and arguably the very first weeaboos, considering the massive Japanomania it provoked in 1880s Britain and America ;) ), with lots of musical numbers!

If we're talking production values, I bet the likes of Hayao Miyazaki, Satoshi Kon or Katsuhiro Otomo would be up to the challenge. And it could very well be something in the same vein as Sweeny Todd. Not terribly elaborate (at least as far as song and dance numbers go), but still packing an emotional wallop.

Let's see, a literal adaptation, or could it be like what West Side Story was to Romeo and Juliet?
Should we get American and/or British animation studios involved in this as well?
Should it be animated to Japanese or English dialogue?
Just pondering the possibilities is so much fun. :D

Episode 3:
Moyashimon / Bill Nye the Science Guy: This is an interesting anime as well as the familiar song. I kinda like this clip most of the time.
Dragon Ball Z / Yu-Gi-Oh: the Abridged Series: Wow! Talk about censoring too much. Anyway, the part of censoring too much makes me laugh so hard; it has to be good.
Evangelion / End of Evangelion: The part "Ritsuko Shot First" made me confuse and funny. However, be careful of using a sound clip of Evangelion with this anime.
Toradora! / Poker Face: I like this clip when his face is barely empty. It is interesting but awesome.
Evangelion / Invader Zim!: This clip has small laugh, but it is the real deal. The part "What is it?" got some interruption to make me laugh barely.
Excel Saga / I Feel Pretty: I feel the song works nicely as I laugh the part when she's falling to the ground by accident.
Saint Tail / Getting Away With Murder: This is a powerful dramatic clip. I would say that this clip has the right idea for this anime.
Evangelion / Troll 2: This clip is all right, but it's great. It's disturbing, so good job.
Golgo 13: The Professional / Free Fallin': This clip scares me near the end, but again it is a dramatic part. I think it is a worthy to watch.
Haruhi Suzumiya / Family Guy: This clip is my favorite so far. It is too short but funny. What's with the Family Guy clip at the end?
Higurashi / Team Fortress 2: This clip is kinda laugh at certain point. The Fire Shot part is actually funny at best. Ouch!
