So I just finished one of many AMVs I am planning to send. Last night, however, I tried to send it to the FTP server to test the water and it wouldn't work. The upload stopped at around 80% and wouldn't let me retry it so I decided to send it again under a different file and name and that one stopped at aroune 20%. Is there any other way I can get these AMVs to you guys?

Edited for typos and great justice!

You might want to try using WinRar to split it into smaller pieces, or just keep trying.

Figured, i'll try again this weekend when I have more free time.

Still relativly new to AMVs (started feburary), is 100MB for 16 seconds of video and audio good or am I missing somthing?

Thats insanely large. However I have noticed when I'm using the SmartFTP client, I need to scroll something on the window every so often or it will time out and cut off the upload.

100mb for 16 seconds sounds like probably uncompressed video. You can use the Lagarith (http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html) codec and that can reduce the size some without harming quality. Also, if its uncompressed, you would see some reduction in size from zipping or raring the file (you wont see any benefit on a compressed file though).

I used HuffYUV for the rendering and the compressing for the overall film (I hope). However I did use VirtualDubMod to uncompress the original anime footage to make it easier to work with. I'll fiddle around with it when I have some free time (Probably thursday or saturday).

Thanks for the help so far.

Bahhh!!! This is starting to drive me mad!

I tried using Lagarith to render and compress my videos and now no matter what I do, even if I switch back to HuffYUV, my exports have no video.

I don't see me solving this soon, would it be that big a deal if I send you the 100mb video and just let you guys compress it?

Edit: Ok...I got it down to around 6mb no problems but it is in .mpg format. Hope that isn't a problem.

Edit 2.0: Fixed everything, its at 6mb and in .avi format and it all looks fine and pretty.

I'm glad I got this all figured out, but the big irony devil in my mind is telling me "You know it's gonna get rejected."
