Like a Boss: Very nice, I just wish the Floating Gendou heads were synched with the scene changes.

Got My Money?: Good use of custom animation over the anime. It's kind of weird how it extends over the letterbox, though.

Virus Alert: I don't like how the audio fades out, and I didn't really get the text at the end.

Tenure: It was great. If I had to complain about something, it would be the female voice coming out of whats-his-face.

Keep it gay: short and sweet

Ninjy Stars: I found this one fairly funny. Not hilarious, but I liked it. It was shortened from the original clip though, because it was originally quite long. Video quality kind of sucks, but its an old anime that wasn't even animated that well to begin with, so you can't complain too much.

Painting the roses red: video quality sucks a bit.

Naked: epic

I'm a doctor: Horrible video quality, but it made me laugh a bit.

Old Gregg: I didn't really like this one much. I've not seen the anime, so perhaps that has a lot to do with it.

Naked Twister: Video quality is HORRIBLE. Good concept though, and short and sweet.

Prostitute Mickey: HORRIBLE video quality. The clip puts a bit of a different spin on the original source though, which probably isn't as good as the original, but is still fairly funny in a different way.

Shinji says: Video quality is kind of bad, and the 16:9 sources are just compressed to fullscreen, making the aspect ratio all wrong. Also, I think it could have been edited a little better, especially at the "zip" sound when Rei is flying away.


All in all, I would have to say this was probably my favorite episode so far.

I have an explanation on why my VQ is usually bad. When I rip DVDs, I rip them with MPEG1 Encoding rather than MPEG2 to save disc space (A difference between 700 megs and 4 gigs at times). Next week I should be getting some money and I'll get a 1TB external HDD and I'll rip my Anime in MPEG2.

I'd have to agree with most of the points Zarxrax made, and I'm taking into account what was said about mine since these are the things I was pondering the most when making it.

For some reason the Doctor one made me laugh a lot, the synching could be a tad better, but over all I found it entertaining.

The Old Greg one gave me a big smile, though that's mostly from seeing old greg before and finding it entertaining that it was used, not so much from the combination of the animation with the audio.

I also enjoyed the use of Utawareromano, though I agree about the animation over the black bars.

Shinji says was epic. Some more connection between changes in the scene and audio might have helped it flow more, but it was still awesome to me.

but really not much else mostly cause the audio and video didn't really have any relevence to each other, I suppose shinji says was alright, along with the FotNS (which was poor quality anyway so I guess I'm not counting it)

oh and I'm not counting the Utawererumono clip because I've actually played the game the anime is based on and there was a cute side story where Touka really does beat the crap out of Oboro for breaking a soldier doll she was really fond of... actually the conclusion to that story was just great and I don't know why they'd drop it for some of the others they did include

Wow, this was definitely the best episode so far, imo, and Zarxrax said a lot of what I was going to say so I'm just going add a few personal comments.

Like a Boss: Creator speaking, I swear the overlays look better in the clip on my computer, I have no idea why though (I actually rewatched the clip to check and indeed this is case) but I certainly blame myself. Regardless, this is my favorite AMV Hell clip I've made and I'm very pleased everybody else liked it.

Got My Money: I actually really like how the animation extended past the letterbox, it gave the video a charming sense of amateurism that wasn't going to be shaken due to the flash animation. I hate family guy clips but this one really made me laugh.

Old Gregg: The syncing could have been a little better and I feel the Hayate scene was a little underutilized, but it was such a wonderfully clever idea that it's probably my favorite of this episode. Great work.

KnJ Hitler: Yeah, I'm not sure I totally understand what you were going for here, but it was quite amusing. I definitely enjoyed it and the editing didn't get in the way at all.

I thought everything was great, i should have done a little more editing on my naked Twister clip at the end and no i couldnt find a higher quality source because that anime is fairly new and only in japanese with subs so i had to crop the image

Oops! I post the wrong thread. My apologize! Here the real critique from "AMV Minis 05".

Since I already saw AMV Minis episode 1-4 so far, this episode is consider not my favorite because I don't have my favorite clips at all. Therefore, I critique all the clips for this episode. Here I go!

Episode 5:

Clip 1: I don't know the song, but this one is actually well-editing background. However, I only laugh at the part "Like a Boss", and that's all.

Clip 2: I found this one is kinda funny, but there's a small problem. The sound clip is unfortunately low quality; I only wish the sound clip can make it high.

Clip 3: This one is all right but nothing else. Talk about the virus is much worthy attention. Did he said "Stinky Cheese"?

Clip 4: Unfortunately, this one doesn't make any sense. I kinda lost, and there's nothing to laugh about.

Clip 5: This one is short, but almost funny at certain point. Move on!

Clip 6: The first sound clip didn't go too well, but the second one is actually much funnier that I expected.

Clip 7: This one is okay. I didn't laugh when it is usually "Roses are red".

Clip 8: I would say almost naked, but it didn't happen. It has small laugh, but it's fine.

Clip 9: The lip sync is a miss at the start, but near the end is kinda funny.

Clip 10: This one is interesting, but nothing else I can say. Move on!

Clip 11: Of course, don't show me naked; thank gosh it's only behind the curtain door. Anyway, this one is not bad but almost good.

Clip 12: Like someone said, the sound clip needs more high quality. This one needs more attention than that.

Clip 13: There are too many "Hilter" words on this one. I would say that I didn't laugh too serious. However, it is an okay.

Clip 14: This one is a hit or miss for the last time. It kinda funny, but I didn't found that funny enough.

Overall, episode 5 didn't have any good funny parts at all. My only wish is that I want a very funny clips, so the parts that I like should be my favorite. I'm hoping that episode 6 will be better than this. I only recommend episode 1-4. It's that simple!

No, that'll poison your experience. Watch things, and then read reviews. I have a friend who does the opposite for everything, and he usually ruins the experience for himself. Of course, he's deathly afraid of spiders, so I guess he needs to screen things.

Like A Boss: Thought it was genuinely funny. The lip syncing was good and i liked the overlay. Nothing bad I can say about this one.

Brian's Beatdown: Creative with the flash animation in it. Another funny one.

The Obligatory Weird Al Clip: Liked the stinky cheese part, but didn't get the ending at all.

The first Futurama clip: Hilarious, all that needs to be said.

Keep it Gay: short sweet and simple, an instant classic.

Fist of the north star clip: Eh, not really funny, would have been better if it was just the south park clip.

Painting the roses red: My least favorite out of the bunch. Don't really know why though. It just didn't seem that funny to me.

The second Futurama Clip: Really funny, naked is funny period. The lip syncing was really good here as well, great job! Also, can I bring up the point that there are a lot of Evangelion/Futurama clips lately?

I'm a Doctor: This made me fall onto the floor. Was to perfect, WAY to perfect.

Old Gregg: Have to agree with Threvlin, it was funnier to see old gregg utilized more than the clip itself.

Naked Twister: Petty funny, liked the song. Never have seen the anime however, so I probably don't fully get the joke.

Goofy the Junkie: The lip syncing could have been much better, but the hilarity of the clip makes up for it.

Hitler: Ah, finally made it to my own clip. Instead of a critique, hows about an explanation. Sadly, the entire joke is supposed to be around the ending run, because it resembled Dean's. I thought it was kinda funny.

Shinji Says: Points for Nostalgia, that really brought me back to watching that show. I thought it was a great laugh!

The overall critique is that this is definitely the funniest Minis to date.

What program do you use to rip your DVDs?:confused:
