Yay! What episode was the Galaxy Angel one from? Also, first.
Video's still marked as private to me.

Woot, my first AMV Mini entry appears in this one! Also, favorites were Beavis/Evangelion, Love Hina/Dora, and Lucky Star/Family Guy (which is saying a lot because i usually dislike the Family Guy clips)

I can't see it, it says it's private.

Happy to see a new episode, but when I attempt to play the YouTube version of the video I'm rejected with the error that it's Private. I think a couple of boxes need unchecking in its properties! :sweatdrop:

yeah youtube version is Private so i just downloaded it to watch it.
Ha this one was better :D - the family guy/lucky star was awesome (and i havent really watched all that much family guy :P)
but even though i have 1 clip n there (the elfen lied one) i think the Dora the Explorer one is the best - fits Kaolla Su perfectly.
and the Guitar Hero one was pretty good too
and Asuka and "The Wizard" - was awesome

My mistake. The One Piece - Family Guy clip isn't missing. I must've been laughing to hard at the Beavis clip to notice it.
Anyway, this one was hilarious. My favs were Eva/ATHF, Excel/Queen, Eva/Wizard, Lucky Star/Family Guy and the Gunslinger Girl one. The last Eva with Beavus & Butthead was good too. Was that music part of the original audio source? It MADE that clip.

Hmm, well I marked the video public before I posted it here, so I guess youtube is just slow and stuff.

BLARGH the smoke clip was supposed to be used in sections! (1st part) someones else clip (2nd part) someones elses clip (last part!) WTH D=
playing all 3 together side by side doesnt make it funny!

Next time perhaps you should tell me that? You made no mention of it in your entry and you submitted it as a single clip. I agree that probably would have worked better though.

i thought it was completely obvious! like every other smoke clip in the past videos! thats also why each clip has a gap between them cause it would have been easier to separate them into the video Dx
my other clips are sweet though

I would submit something if i knew how to. Plus i would suck at making AMV's!

Now that I've been able to have a proper look at it, this episode was another one that was good fun. The opening clip and the Excel Saga clips were effective bait-&-switches playing off other clips from earlier in the series, and uniquely a lot of the speaking clips involved music, which kept up an energetic pace.
I'll offer more developed comments in the critique thread when it appears, but in the meantime I can give this one a thumbs-up.

I am severely disappointed in the steady decline of humor in these. Have we lost out standards?

I'm neither emo nor grumpy (maybe a little grumpy) but honestly I found only 1 or 2 of the clips funny and I'm still amazed at the number of people who absolutely refuse to criticize this thing and even more astounded by all the people who claim that this is one of the best ones yet

it's not that we refuse to criticize. It's that there isn't much to. For me atleast. But hey, perhaps we're retarded =B

That was kinda average Minis. 2nd is still my favorite.
Also interesting when we will finally see AMV Hell 5?

As rare as it is, I'm more in agreement with Abyss on this one, I smiled a few times but this is nearing the edge of a slippery slope.

Guys, if you honestly think the series needs fixing, go to the Critique forums and elaborate on what you would've done to make the clips better (Ep 6 forum is here: http://amvhell.com/showthread.php?t=2160 ). Better yet, submit your own clips! Or, if you don't have a means of editing videos, contact someone who does and share ideas with them (I know abyss has shared one with me.).
This has already come up once, but I think I should mention it again: I think we should open up the selection process more. We could have all of the forum members (or just the editors and reviewers) have access to all of the submissions and vote on them. I also think we should get conversations going between the editors and the voters on sharing ideas for clips and what they can do to improve existing clips, rather than just having the info relayed back to them. The last I checked, the means of doing so is still iffy, but I think it'd be great to consider.
What do you think, guys? Feel free to voice your thoughts on this.

This is an idea I can get behind... I know that there are alot of people out there who can't really make amvs but have some good ideas (me included) and it would be great to make suggestions on what AMVs we have in mind... If one is started, I already have two ideas to suggest...
As for Minis 6: it was good all around but as always, it had too much evangelion... the only good Eva clip was the ATHF, that was brilliantly crafted, while the rest were at times... meh... I enjoy beavis and butthead and much as the next guy, but the "we will never score" speech has been used quite a bit and seems like it drags on before it finally moves onto the next clip...
I also enjoyed the lucky star clip with a few others...

Yeah, if we could open up this process more, I think we could potentially make the series even better.
Another thing to consider: I think we should have a work-in-progress of each episode and critique that before the final version is released. That way we can work out as many kinks as we see fit.

it sounds good on paper but I'm sure this is the fastest way to completely muddle up the process so that's it's unbelievably slow and unreliable

Yeah. We're all bound to have different taste in videos, and when we all vote on something, we're going to get lots of ties and other difficulties. Better to leave it in the hands of one person, and trust their judgment I think.
If we allow previews of a video that's not done, it also takes away a bit of the surprise when you finally get to see the finished product.

to be fair we do already have a group of people to look at videos and we usually come to a consensus but when we don't there's a lot of discussion, now imagine if every member of the site was involved in this for every clip. Yeah that just won't work

I might need to elaborate as to what I said earlier... when I said my comment previously, it was under the impression of how this idea would be like a "Make a request" thread where you can say something like "can someone make a voltron amv using the power rangers theme" (not the best example yea, but this is simply to make a point) someone who is looking on the thread can get the clips, put it together and then submit it; not really having the whole entire board evaluate the amv beforehand... This is what I had in mind, otherwise it would be very disorganized and could get out of hand if you start sharing clips with everyone (maybe like one or two people perhaps, but not the whole board...)

I'm very much against this idea. If the videos are all out there for everyone to see to begin with, why would anyone watch the episode when it gets released? They have already seen all the clips, so there is nothing new to see.
As it already is, we have people sometimes complaining "I saw this clip in the video directory a long time ago, so it wasn't really funny anymore"

I can understand why you'd want to keep it private. At the same time, though, I'd at least like to see more open discussions between the editor and the reviewers. If that's not possible, well, I thought I'd at least mention it.
