Just to head off any mockery: I don't listen to music that is currently popular, nor do I have cable/satellite television, and I barely ever watch tv anyway.

my friend is a music... person and she explained it to me like this: Lady Gaga is a pop star genius, she knows more about music than any other pop star (no hard) but pretends she can't sing so that she's more popular (yeah I don't fully get it either) she learned from the other pop stars that to be popular all you have to do is make a spectacle out of everything and just let the actual music take backseat. It kinda makes sense to me, but I don't follow this stuff either

Ok let me put things in perspective here

Lady Gaga is an ex-gogo dancer turned "popstar". The reason she is so popular in my opinion is becuz of that she is a muppet employed by the government to turn the world gay or something like that XD.
The reason this so called "musical genius" is so popular is becuz she has ripped off almost every real talented musician of the past 40 or so years. Including David Bowie, Madonna and the like.
Also in response to the post before me, apperently there are photo's of her nude in which she doesn't have a qock so the debate presses on furthermore of her physical gender. But anyway in my opinion she is furthermost responsible of dumbing down the music industry even further, hornifiying guys and girls alike and turning homosexuality into a fashionable and marketable thing which to be clear is something to be avoided by any cost. Not because of the fact that it is homosexuality but because sexual orientation 4 e.g. is something to have and not to capitalise/popuralise.

In short this woman should be executed in my opinion for all that I care and everyone should be able to listen to the music they want and not have anything forced upon them.

well here's a response that shows a completely lack of objectivity, BTW I did check out some of her stuff before she became famous and she's very musically talented but her fame is predicated on her pretending she isn't. Also the put the dick thing to bed, she was born a hermaphrodite but it was removed at birth

If it makes you feel any better she used to be a sane professional musician, I think she played piano and kept her mouth shut except for the occasional classical piece.
