I regret to inform you that AMV Hell 6 will not be shown at Otakon. After a lot of consideration, the staff of AMV Hell have decided that AMV Hell 6 will premiere at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2012. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those that have lost so much in Syria. You thought I was going to say Colorado, right? No, Syria. There is a major civil war going on there right now you know. Not to play down the events in Colorado, but 6,947 Syrians died last month. I'll probably be cutting down AMV Hell 6 from ~90 minutes to 60 minutes for the AWA premiere. Thank you for your patience in these troubling times. Also, Free Pussy Riot.

It's just really bad the way it is now. I submitted it to the Fan Parodies block at Otakon with the videos randomized, and the first video is a shooting joke video. In the interest of giving the editors who submitted gun and shooting joke videos relief, the premiere will be delayed till AWA. Most of the videos will be left in. I'm just going to take extra time to cut out the slow parts of videos so that the project has better flow.

I agree, if we are going to cut out shooting content due to recent events. Then all other AMV Hells should have been cut the same. There is always a horrible shooting everywhere.

Should we alter ourselves when such things happen? Should I not play TF2, Max Payne or any other games with guns. Should I self censor and not watch a movie with guns or death until enough time has passed till its "ok".

Sure edit it as much as you want, edit out "slowness" or whatever. I can even see showing to the public always complicated. However unless it opens with a clip of a movie theater being shot up using Batman audio clips. Then I dont think its in poor taste to leave in guns or shooting in the video....any more than what AMV hell has been doing for the last 6 years.

Edit as you like, just I think that kind of reason is flimsy to suddenly pull the breaks and care after AAAAAAAAALLLL that has been shown so far under the AMV Hell title.

The idea of editing it to make better paced is a good idea.
Acctualy maybe losing some of the clips wouldn't be a bad idea I recently watched 5 again and for the most part it was realy good but then there clips that seemed like they were put in just to extend it's length.

How's that for a scientific fact? As for the fact we don't know what will be cut, you're right. But SSG, as a leading editor and head of the project has every right to decide what's in and what's not. As long as it's for quality reasons, and not moral reasons (and it's exactly what's been stated, except for the delay, which is partially for moral reasons I understand) it's ok with me.

The youtube channel I sub to is called knightwing and he decided not to post any new videos for week because of the collorado cinema incident.
and a film company making a ganster film is planning on cutting out all the gun scenes because of the collorado incident.

You shouldn't stop doing somthing because people died in a shooting at the cinema people die every day,people are mugged every day.
Thats just the way the world is.

The famlies of the victims probably just want the world to carry on as close to normal as possable,I doubt they want it pause becasue someone close to them died.

Pretty sure AMV Hell 5 was really supposed to be dedicated to RolltheStampede (www.animemusicvideos.org/usernum/229257). He was an editor that died around the time of it's release and they felt it was appropriate to dedicate it to one of the guys who helped out on the AMV Hell movies. SSG mentioned dedicating it to Quu because he was fairly active on AMV.org.

Hell shouldn't be preachy like that. I mean we've already made jokes about the tragedy, so honestly, as a cold hearted prick on the Internet, I think we should let IRL problems stay IRL and focus on...HELL. Hence why I understand the RolltheStampede and Quu as they were apart of this community, they helped make Hell what it is and SSG and others actually knew and worked with them on a personal basis.
