This isn't surprising since both had a special episode dedicated to them.

*HEAVY laugh* That was great, after watching this I finally get some of the references that I didn't get the first time around all those years ago. Its a shame that only out of both seasons and specials which were over 2 hours only like 25% of it was good. This gives me a great idea, Best of AMV Hell. Taking the best clips from all the Hells, 1-6(when that comes out)(and not the zeros except for maybe the corn one) This will be the greatest EPIC thing since AMV Hell 3 first came out.

Most of the picks were based off the ranking of clips in the voting threads.
The highest ranking ones from each episode were included. Then for kinda highly ranked ones, I just made a judgement call on where to cutoff. I then added a few that weren't ranked highly but I still liked. Then I removed a few videos that I felt were too similar too each other.

So for most stuff that didn't make it, its probably because it didn't get ranked high when people voted.

I'm not sure if my Hellsing Nom Nom Babies clip should've been included, the quality in my videos has never been perfect, but I've gotten better over time and even though that particular one had a pretty funny concept, the video quality was horrible and I had screwed up on the sound (though no one ever seemed to notice). I'm my own worst critic.

I've been trying to avoid the forums as much as possible so I won't get too hyped for AMV Hell 6. In my house its one of those things me and the roomies all gather round for on a quiet day. Its not one of those "countdown" situations where somebody wakes up and goes "DUDES ITS FIVE DAYS UNTIL AMV HELL 6!" More like I walk in from work one afternoon and say: "Anyone free? The new AMV Hell just came out."
That's really the only motivation we need.
This compilation might be one of those quiet events. My clip probably isn't in it, but that's not a big deal.
Just have to wait for that download to finish...

By definition, it ignores chord progression. That's always kind of bugged me. I can get past it sometimes, though.

I usually do my best to be patient about these things... but I have to admit, the wait for AMV Hell 6 is starting to prey on me. Every time I visit the site and see Zarxrax online, I'll be bouncing in my seat "oboyoboyoboy, he's writing the announcement post! Today's the day!"

Any way, so i tried downloading this today (from both sources) and what I have is some jerky frames that are completely out of sync,

I used Media Player Classic equipped with CCCP, but I think it worked just as well on Windows Media Player.

Winamp wants to convert it all to a wav file...im not sure how to reconfigure it.
Realplayer plays it...must be a codec issue. still some pixeling =/

It looks like a standard 848x480 x264 encoded mp4 file to me, so I don't know why it's giving you trouble, provided similar files play for you.

it must be the 264. and is why i never use the zarx converter. I would preview them before submitting and they would look like that, to me....I'll have to explore this further

Try getting CCCP (http://www.cccp-project.net/) if you haven't already. I'm fairly sure that will solve your problem.

Well, there is the option of Googling it, but I'll give you the short version: It's a media player known for poorly rendering files during playback. A bunch of ugly visual noise will come up in the frame of whatever you're watching, at times. Folks download fansubs instead of streaming their shows use Media Player Classic equipped with Combined Community Codec Pack to view these shows in the best way possible.

I sincerely enjoyed the Minis video. A lot of the better parts I'd entirely forgotten about and I was able to show large groups of friends. The whole "load up small videos" thing was driving them away and the quality of the Minis series is never 100%... the Best Of... however? Pure gold. My friends and I seemed to get the biggest laugh out of the Monoke/Holy Grail gag.

To be fair, he'd also have to add a few seconds at the beginning with a title screen to throw people off, upscale the video to 720p (or 1080p. It never hurts to build up a backlog. I know a guy that did that and he managed to crash the judging system for a while, due to sending in about 30 clips. On my end, I've gotten quite a few written down or halfway finished, but I still need to actually complete them.

This site is kind of dying. It used to get a lot more traffic, but it's been fairly slow, as of late. Outside of people popping in to ask where AMV Hell 6 is, at least. Regardless, I'm expecting a massive influx of people if and when AMV Hell 6 gets released, for better or worse.

allowing myself to be distracted from my project once more, I checked out blitz 1...seemed to be front-loaded with the worst clips, but got better as it went.
saw some crappy video quality and a couple of bad aspect ratios, but overall not too shabby. Really really could have done without the running "Team Fortress 2" clips tho
