Ok, so it has been a long several months here, with missed deadlines out the wazoo. A really rough cut of AMV Hell 6 premiered at Anime Weekend Atlanta and a handful of other conventions back in September and October. The idea was that SSGWNBTD was supposed to tweak it up some and actually finish it within a couple of weeks, and then we'd post it up here for everyone to enjoy.
However... there was never much progress made after that.

From here, I will be taking over the development of AMV Hell 6.
I will be taking new videos for consideration to be included, through the end of January.
Remember, the overall quality of the final video depends on YOUR entries. If you watch that work in progress and think it ought to be better, well then send me some great videos!
My goal is to keep the overall length of the video about the same, but to hopefully swap out many of the less interesting videos with some much better ones. So get to work and lets see what you guys can do!

Micro torrent ( µTorrent [ utorrent.com ] ) works well and is not very demanding for those having issues with magnets.

It's not much but I'll leave it up at 100% bandwidth as long as no one complains about the internet bogging in my home.

its overkill. 720p is HD and so is 1080p, but stations don't broadcast in 1080p, the difference isn't that much even when you blow it up on a tv. The relationship between how good it looks is not a strait graph.

Depends on your television, though. If you have a really big one, then 1080p is preferred. 720p is fine for smaller sets, though. I'm assuming this was made for one of those big convention sets and I'm fairly sure Zarx has the disk space to support a lossless 1080p avi file, but I can't say for sure. Just speculating, as always.

It won't be HD. Most of the entries aren't up to enough quality to be worth it.

Wow I honestly did not see it coming that SSG would be fired. From what I've heard every now and again I was expecting it but not this soon. Anyway looking forward to how this looks and I will deffo give some feedback here. Only thing tho I'll probably gonna have to do it either tomorrow or during the weekend.

It ain't that hard. Reading a few guides should give you the basic idea, but I'll give you a picture to help out.

Just make sure the footage you're using was made on an HD master, get an HD version, and use those specs.

I liked it just fine but there were a lot of duds in the barrel. I noticed my wife and I laughed at different points because we watch different shows so context is a big driver for many of the jokes.

There were some real gold ones in there. Old Spice and the Hercules themesong will rate as some of my highest entries in to the franchise to date.

Remove ~20mn of ****ty contents (repetitions, bad video quality, too long skits - the Soul Eater X Charlie Sheen please stop), replace that with ~25mn of good things, and hop, it can be a cool AMV Hell. The intro is too ****ing long for nothing but the credits are really good.

3/5 because there is a lot of good things and it was enjoyable for a temporary version.

Oh dear... this certainly is a rough cut.

A lot of clips run far too long. After the point has already been made there's really no reason to keep the clip going. It's a time limit, not a time suggestion.

The quality can get super wonky. I know quality Ranma 1/2 clips are a lot to ask but Angel Beats is pretty inexcusable. The audio can also get pretty bad- Master of Puppets by Metallica and The Touch by Stan Bush stick out especially.

Maybe this is just taste, but come on. It's not 2001 anymore. Peanut Butter Jelly Time is just not funny. If Skyrim jokes are outdated and not funny anymore (which they are) and that game came out a year ago, that's pretty unacceptable.


Beyond that I'd REALLY like to know what anime is before the Death Note/Nyan Cat, that looks ****ing awesome.

Overall, the weakest of the Hells. Not many clips are laugh worthy, some dragged on far too long, and there was video issues some clips.
But the ones that are...man, they are HILARIOUS.

Hercules/Carnival Phantasm is probably one of the best clips submitted to Hell to date. The Sync was good, the music was good, the quality was good, and you didn't even need to understand the context/anime to find it funny. This is what I imagine to be a perfect AMV Hell clip.
Then there is the Monoke/Snickers clip, the quality wasn't AS good, but damn was it funny as hell as it came out of ****ing nowhere.
The Brick Jokes were also funny, I laughed at the completion of the Evangelion/Star Bucks joke
The Ending Song was well done

As for what was bad:
The Abridged References were hit or miss: The Higurashi/DBZA one was gold, but the YGO: BBT abridged one was not.
Too much repetition of jokes is also bad here, two Transformers Theme tune references, Three "Fus-Roh-Dah"! references, among others. Not good running gag jokes, overall.
Too many unfunny clips, some were excellently done, just not particularly funny outside of "oh he's dying in her arms, how funny"
Too similar jokes to other Hells. The "shrooms" joke is major offender. Needs some more variety.


So yeah, glad this is just the "rough cut" it has MAJOR potential to be the best hell yet, just needs some more quality material and trimming around the edges to fully make it worth while.

Well, i watched it and i can honestly say....In its current form this is the worst of the movies.

Some bullets i logged while watching.

- Get rid of that death note nyan cat clip....now.

- That 3 way clip was just bad...

- I have a better version of that ranma it all depends on the mood i'm in clip i can re submit where i pitch edited better. I wasn't nearly as good as i am now when submissions was going on.

- Some of you niggas need to learn how to lip synch and stop downloading streaming footage.

- Hercules clip was the perfect balance of badass and funny. As far as i'm concerned best damn clip in there! It was amazing.

- Some of these clips are too damn long!

- Some of these clips made me face palm...Guess why?

- I wonder why my "perfection" clip got cut short. That shortened version is bland as hell and it wasn't
even my fault. Just showing cell doesn't do it but the second half is where the money was.

- Repeating the same ****ing jokes....marvelous!

- I guess the clips that kept with the theme got in despite being bad/not funny/ not interesting.

- The watermarks man...the watermarks.

- I guess someone didn't get the memo to stop putting their avatar/logo on their videos...or just wanted
to whore. I'd believe either but lean toward the latter as we haven't done this for two installations and minis.

- The skyrim joke isn't funny god dammit.

- It seemed a running theme here that the good clips were over shadowed by bad ones as there weren't many of them to begin with.

- I take full responsibility for the audio quality on the touched clip. I have bad sound systems and have a tough time telling when my audio is crap sometimes.

- I'm going to assume i'll never see a decent avatar the last air bender skit.

Good thing this is the rough cut. As others have said a lot of clips go on for too long. I felt a lot of clips didn't make sense or just fell flat also. Of course there were quite a few rehashed ideas as well as reused audio and video clips. The Utena clip to the Transformers theme is one example as I've seen something very similar to it before. There were some good clips though but I think they were mostly in the first half again like in AMV Hell 5.

just finished watching it, and think im on the same page as everyone else. didn't find too many clips amusing....way too many clips run on far too long
though I did really enjoy some of the well executed clips even if they aren't hugely "funny" (the Stein - winning clip is a good one IMO, even if it is a little long) but felt even those kinds of ones were much fewer in this ep.

I think the theme might kinda be part of the problem. I have no issues with the theme itself and think it can work in general, but it seems to me that the want to stick close to the theme with some of their clips lead a lot of editors in the direction of very simple/plain, "transparent", and "unclever" ideas, my single submission in this ep included

I am glad submissions have reopened for the moment though, I wanted to submit more to this one but never had the time.

all that said, I think there is still potential here.

Anyways, I have finally finished it.. and I must say that unless you recognise some of the backgrounds, the series in many of these AMVs slide right by you. I have to say, out of all the compilations for an end AMV, this one has to be the weakest of the three AMV HELL movies. In many parts, the editing was so bad it was almost like watching "The Brothers Grunt" with outsourced audio. That lipsyncing was that bad. In any case, grab some wine and hope Zarx fixes these issues in the next three hours, or else we're all going to die with a feeling of disappointment.

I seem to only laugh anymore when I've seen the series and catch the reference (I liked that Kids on the Slope clip and was happy to see it appear, but it wouldn't have been funny had I not watched it and known that the characters have a similar disagreement about music in the actual show). I think the jokes have gotten much more series-specific than they were when this series started.

Seriously people...I love "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time", but please stop using that scene.

It's also amazing how much the content of Evangelion, Naruto, Azumanga, and other "overused" shows has gone down. I guess people complained enough.

-Repeated audio and jokes. Like the Black Knight joke from Monty Python.
-There were two Hetalia jokes about Russia and his lackeys, and the first one was the better, I think. The second with the... anthem or whatever just kind of was flat and unfunny and went on way too long.
-The damn flashing on the Welcome to the NHK one, man that hurt my eyes and went on WAY too long.
-The Death Note/Nyan Cat was funny as hell but only needed to be able 1/4th of that length, if even.
-Too many Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged clips.
-I don't think we should make it 'end-of-the-world themed clips only' because there's only so much you can do with it before the jokes become stale and unfunny.

Also I was ****ing happy to see a Tiger & Bunny one in there, even if it was more generally cute than outright funny.

On second watch through, I stand by my original assertion.
It was truly the weakest of the Hells, although it has major potential. Unlike Neomalyses, it did have one or two good quality clips, the Hercules one was damn near perfect. We need more Clips like the Hercules one. Use that as an example as a perfect or close to perfect skit for future reference. Hell, we can do an entire video of "good" or "perfect" skits to show newbies what to do, and ****ty video of what "not to do".

I didn't mind the Robot Carnival, in the intro, but it should have been seperate from Gurren Lagann, because in the end it went on for ages then "End of the Universe" and all I could think was "oh...".

School Rumble, with the Literal Revelations trailer audio, could have been better

Death Note, Nyaa Cat, went on Faaar to long, it wasn't even good...plus credit text.

Proffesor Layton to A-Team audio was what I considered the first good one.

Balls to the face one wasn't very well edited, a little more work on matching up the audio to video should make it fine.

Angel Beats "it's not gay, if it's a 3-way" made me laugh -pity about the quality, but the show is slightly blurry even in 1080.

This has potential as long as all the low quality clips that were good get resubmitted with better quality audio and video and all the clips that didn't work are removed. I can understand older shows having low quality but when I'm looking at something from the past one to two years have a lower quality than something from almost twenty years ago like Ranma I'm concerned. I mean honestly some of the Hetalia and HOTD stuff looks like it was filmed from a stream on a crappy cellphone and then blown back up to normal size. I know I was a little far out there earlier but there really aren't that many clips in the rough cut that made me laugh. I do agree with the Hercules clip being funny but that was a diamond among a **** pile I can't see the entire video being good especially when some clips I liked were bogged down by low quality production.

It seems three of mine got through the cracks, one of which I had NO hope for and though I found it humourous, cringed the entire time whilst making it. There was a fourth I had great hope for, and I thought it was good, but I suppose not. I must apologize for the visual quality of one of mine, there's no excuse for the blur which was produced, I'm not quite sure what happened myself. I suppose it's possible I hit the wrong button when I converted it out of Vegas and didn't notice when I submitted it, as it was likely quite late into the evening. This was my first time submitting any skits to one such video, and was quite pleased when one of mine came up, and it lightened my mood for the whole thing. Though I must say, I spent too long wondering "Is the next one going to be one of mine?!" and then being a tiny bit disappointed when it was not. I stood up and cheered when I saw the first of my clips, it was exhilarating!

I agree with most saying that I'd give this volume a solid 3/5 for the most part. There were definitely some gems throughout, but there were some that simply did not need to go as long as they were, such as the previously mentioned Nyan Cat, 3-way, Charlie Sheen, and so on, as well as some gags used a bit too often throughout AMV Hells, or even through this one. It was also a bit weird hearing cuts in the audio in some clips, for instance the Hetalia clip where an aliens gets punched something fierce.

It seems we definitely need to cut down on the in-jokes and such. Too often I'll sit and stare blankly at a clip and think "Maybe that would be funny if I've seen the anime...?" I've done this to AMV Hells 4 and 5, and upon re-watching them again years later, yes, I do get the jokes. That isn't quite the point of these though, or at the very least it shouldn't be. It's nice to have the occasional in-joke here or there, especially if they're short and would provide a good laugh to someone who knows the show well.

On a side note: YAY! One of mine got onto someone's favourite list! (The Baccano! clip at 53:53)

Well, I finished it and I can honestly say this was the worst one yet. Now, there were certainly a few gems that I enjoyed, but a lot of the videos just felt really lazy or stupid. Technical errors out the ass, old memes that were never that funny to begin with, narrow jokes that have to be explained to people, et cetera, et cetera. Seriously. I had to take a minute or two to explain the Pisces Aphrodite/Gay Fish thing to some people both IRL and on this site, simply because most people outside of the European and South American anime fandoms just haven't seen Saint Seiya, and given its age, can you really blame them? Despite singling that one out, there were plenty of other clips with similar issues, but that's the first example I could think of.

A while ago, I just would've been happy that some of my clips got in, but given the type of stuff that was also in the video, there doesn't seem to be much consensus on what's good and bad here. And here I was thinking I'd have the worst quality stuff in the whole video. Well, I thought that when I sent in my stuff, at least. Time to send in some re-cuts. And lots of extra videos. I have a backlog of clips I couldn't finish in time, so there's that...

And on that note, I'd like to thank Zarx for giving us this second chance to save this video, seeing as how what we got here was SSG's idea of quality control. Hopefully my fellow video editors have all learned a lot since the months that submissions have closed. Or at the very least, let's hope some of these people have glanced over the guides or know how to acquire footage that isn't from a streaming site. This type of thing isn't all that hard once you get the hang of it, people. Step it up.

well i watched it... alot has pointed out many flaws... and i didnt feel like watching it again to point out flawsm so ill just say a few things.
at around 58:00 i looked how much time left it ends [ first one in amv series]
the quality in some places WAS BELOW stream quality, in the song with haruhi dancin i cringed looking how bad it looked, the audio and no joke didnt help.
johny bravo one was good yet i felt like it needed more impacts to compare to the original op [ and no i dont mean the robots]
hercules one was long indeed but it had a nice sync end so all is forgiven
the panty and stocking bad crowd was interesting.
most of the destruction clips were boring and bland, even the one with classic music was so out of sync it was boring.
shark teeth clip was ****, even if it had proper lip sync it would be ****.
the rest simply doesnt stick to memory out of sheer meh

We're still alive, which means Zarx better get his arse to work re-editing some submissions and chucking and finding others. The latter half of the movie is still burned in my brain as having only six good parts. And the only reason two of those is good is because I have a deep understanding of the circumstances for the joke. As for the "Sonic X" themesong set to Evangelion 2.0, we all know Shinji is too much of a whiny bitch to break the soundbarrier willingly. I went through whole 15 minute intervals without even a smile. Considering each video is about 45 seconds to a minute and a half long, that's quite a few I got no reaction out of. I was so bored I actually went and watched the DUBBED version of Infinite Stratos. Yeah. That's bad.

That is Michiko e Hatchin, and that particular scene is from an episode in which a quack voodoo doctor "cures" one of the main characters (Michiko) by reaching his hands "into" her in order to....pull a live fish out. It may have something to do with it being a relatively serious show. Funimation seems to be ignoring those in favor of typical ecchi and shonen titles that are essentially guaranteed to sell decently. Though that's mostly me speculating and I have no real figures on how well the show sold over there.

Hypocritically enough, I pretty much only buy series on DVD or Blu-Ray if I really, really like them, need to make an AMV with the footage and a proper rip isn't available online, or if they're really cheap. For the former two reasons, I'm saving up to buy the expensive Mazinkaiser and Devilman Japanese Blu-Ray sets, each averaging about $30 an episode. I've also been considering buying that third of Eyeshield 21 released in America, since it's available at a good price.

I won’t have access to my DVDs or video-editing system for another two months, so I’m sad to say I can’t submit anything new for now. So in the meantime, I’d like to strongly suggest keeping the following clips for the final product-


The Hercules clip. Yeah, everyone loves it for good reason.
41:43’s ASDF Movie audio clip. Children getting killed makes anything better.
44:50’s “The Touch” clip. Children killing people makes anything better.
The Utena / Fresh Prince clip. Like a glove.
The Squid Girl / Futurama clip. All The Squid Girl clips were good, this was the most amusing.

Are Avatar: The Last Airbender clips good to submit? I’ve always been under the impression that the “A” of AMV stood for “Animated”.
AMV Hell isn’t ( http://www.amvhell.com/showthread.php?26086-AMV-Minis-S2-X4-Live-Action) exactly an Annie-May only project anyway (http://www.amvhell.com/showthread.php?4259-Anime-is-dead-to-me-(AMV-Minis-S2-EpX1)).

If it’s a good clip- it should be judged, then passed or rejected like any other clip using footage of Japanese origin.

couple of suggestions. (personal opinion)
the opening was great, but could have done without the text at the end.
the deathnote nyan cat was too long, and looked a bit fuzzy. (also, credits)
the hercules clip was perfect. the length was okay, because it was funny the whole way through. (personal favorite in the vid)
the sonic x one would have okay, but the song is too repetitive, so it would have been better if it was shorter.
the azumanga to the paper on the pc thing had been done many times in the past. the first one was great, but after that, it felt overdone.
the i'm on shrooms felt like it was trying to be the same as the previous amv hell. re-used jokes are fine, but it needs to be done properly. (i may be bias on this one, as i hate the song)
the arrow to the knee clip would have been better if we could see an injury to his knee, or an arrow.

Thank you ThatsNotMyName_studio and HaarTheDragonlord for the tips and link, i started ripping my dvds for better quality now know how to do it and editing using sony vagas, the clip i made that got into amvhell6 were HOTD - zombie kill of the week 48.12 mins in ( im going to remake this one again once i rip the dvd to get better quality) and k-on, i just what the voice in my head to go away 1 hour and 11 mins and 45sec in (made the quality better and got rid of that stuiped dubhappy in the corner). now planning to make some more to send in probs in feb.

Well yes, you need to get deeper into Hetalia clips to get the point (the same for anime itself). Its not that "Ive dropped it on the ground" type of clips, obvious to every ten year old.

I'm somewhat familiar with Hetaila and got the joke, but they just sort of dragged on. Provided the anthem one was shorter, and perhaps if you had some sort of sound bite beforehand explaining the character's name some time around the beginning (for the people not familiar with the series), I might have found it pretty humorous. That's just my suggestion, though, so feel free to dismiss it as whatever you people dismiss my suggestions as.

I made all the Hetalia clips, seems not many people liked them.

They're boring. Too long. And the skit with Master of Puppets is not fun at all if you don't know that this guy is Russia (or even if you don't know that Hetalia is a show about countries.) Hell, even if you know that, it's not fun at all because it's too long and the montage is really lazy. In my opinion, it need to be cut in half and more fun to watch.

That takes too much effort for a lot of people. Most assume slapping some funny audio onto a scene will get a laugh out of people no matter what, rather than trying to manipulate the lyrics of a song. Of course, I'm not 100% innocent here, so I'm hardly one to talk.

Depends on how they're done, in my opinion. I'd rather see someone set a boring song to something in a way that misappropriates the lyrics than a simple Futurama clip where the punchline is already there for you.

I much prefer the music ones to the soundclip ones. Most of them feel as if they actually had effort put into them. Pretty much every soundclip one here in 6 felt really lazy and slapped together. Also, Shadow, yes your Russian clips sucked. They sucked really badly because they went on way past what was necessary to get the joke. Shortening them is the best option.

All right since I see I am not the only person feeling similar on a number of the clips (Length/comedic timing/re used jokes/slapped on jokes from already funny stuff....so cheating in most cases), I felt instead of being unhelpfull with hums and ha's. Id throw down a few comments of each segments as I watch.

I think the first clip for "Safety not Guaranteed" I like and the effort put into it very nice. The placement of RIGHT at the start I think is a waaaay off. Id say put it right after AMV HELL 6 Title screen.

The Robot Carnival/Gurren Lagaan opening....Its very long. I spent a while not sure what to make of it and then finally got to the end with the punchline. I think the Robot Carnival part should be cut out. As it dosnt flow into the Gurren part, were the meat of the intro is. If anything Id rather see somthing else done with that Robot Carnival footage as I am sure there is a joke in it, just not coupled with the Gurren Intro.

The boob flash guitar riff. Sure keep it in, it gave me a chuckle and isnt too intrusive. Not great.....

"Dont try Suicide" with Gurren Laggan, I know we had the song in a past AMV more than likely AMV Minis. I am not sure if it was Gurren Laggan then too maby DBZ. If not it seems awful similar to past AMV stuff, is that good or bad? its a good clip.

Next part (talking about giant boobs being unnatural) is very good, its not to long, its well made and the comedy timing is just right.

The "when you see my face it gives you hell." one, nope its a flat one with me. I cant find any redeeming qualities to. I say its an easy one to get rid of.

"Double Sun power" is very short and the joke bam right there and gone. Its a keeper.

Excel Saga "Mickey" Its short enough to be ok....the joke is sort of ok....just aside from looking like Mickey Mouse....its pretty flat. Switch it when you find something better.

Star wars old man and kid lightsaber fighting, aside from the audio being a little off (How the hell youd do better, I dont think its possible.) its a decent joke and dosnt run out its welcome. A keeper unless you have to make room for some gold.

"Dr Light" I dont think there is a way to budge this one. the quality is good enough and the joke is good enough . Id say its an easy keep.

"Shot Down in a blaze of Glory" decent enough I suppose, its short maybe too short and too little worth for the joke. Its ok if it stayed, wouldn't be missed if it was cut.

Wrath of Khan one is just perfect, its a very good well made one. Keep!

Chobits "Dats what am talkin bout" sure keep it, I am sure someone will laugh at it.

Full Metal Alchemist "kill all the white people." Thats a very decent one, cant really fault it. Keep.

"I died in your arms tonight" uuuuuuuuummmmmmm......I cant really make much of an argument except say I didn't like it.

School Rumble with Literal lyrics or what ever it is. Tobuscus thing. If you couldnt tell I dont like Tobuscus, and for such reasons I dont pass a fair judgement on this clip. The effort the editor did is good Ill say that.

Code Geass "I go crazy" its not fantastic however its decent.

"I want candy".........so its music to people eating candy......nope dont like it no joke there.

Yu Yu Hakusho "If I was gay." Its perfect...well not so. I think if another version was used were there was more of a pause of Stephen Lynch singing "Give you my hole....BEING!" it would be funnier. Other wise its good concept and clip.

Next clip...I dont know how to define it....except while I didnt laugh I certainly that other people will laugh. Id say its a keeper, its just too crazy.

Evangelion Starbucks one is perfect a keeper.

Space oddity 2001 clip. I think it should, there is an actual joke in there.

Squid girl mosquito one, that a good one, keep it.

Professor Layton "A-Team" the joke is really easy, aswell as the editing....still better than some already. So possible keeper.

Naruto heart jar thing. I am not a Naruto fan...I dont get the joke with the footage and the song. My opinion is get rid of it.

The one after with the "loony toons" sound clip to Nadia...I say that I dont think there is a sound clip. I think its just the normal anime sound, it dosnt seem like anyone's done any work to it aside from it cut out of Nadia and threw it in for submission. Even if that's not the case, its pretty weak.

FMA Barbar Streisand, yeah it will get some chuckles and to the right person will make them laugh. Keep. Also not too long.

Hellsing Ultimate "we are the new KKK" that is just freaking ingenious and well made. KEEEEEEEP!!!

"Obey your master" its way too long for little reason. If it was a lot shorter for the joke. Yeah....but it just goes on when you get the joke in the first second.

"Who will I kill" I like the concept, however its another long one. In this case it might be more survivable next to some shorter jokes than right after "obey your master".

Its perfect, harking back to the early days of SSGWNBTD (which only last month I realised what that meant! as I enjoyed some old AMVs from 2000 and AMV Hell 3 Going "I wonder what Some Stupid Guy with Nothing Better To.......Dooo aww **** thats what that means!") I digress as its just so damned perfect.

However, I find alot wrong with AMV Hell 6 in its current state that takes away the enjoyment. So much so this is my second time watching the first third and giving up before deciding to do this task. Yes its easier to destroy than create, however maybe a tough cut and bringing AMV hell 6 to 45 minute or something might be needed.

Ill continue my detailed thoughts another time. I do wish I could contribute a clip or so, however the best I have had is just mashing Lilly C.A.T with Alien and The thing Trailer, I am by far not at all able to make that work.

A clip that I thought needed some editing to it was the clip at 14:19. I mean, I enjoyed the joke, but I think the joke got it's point across by 14:37, and should not have gone on till 14:49. (At least in my opinion.) The joke, if you don't know, was the 3-Way one.

"Psycho" clip....I donno. I think its not much of an edit, 99% of the joke is done by the anime it self. Its worth looking at for the crazyness. But to give credit to an editor? I dont think so. I say cut it on those principles. However its a fine enough clip (if lazy) to stay.

Sorry to cause offence. I was too much in glee from an actual good clip. I said cheating as in it seemed too damned well fitting with the mention of Joey, however I didnt not mean it.

It was purely praise for have an absolutely perfect clip especially in the wash of all these terrible ones.

Akyho made some good points and I largely agree with him, but I think he was too nice on some, specifically the ones in the quote above. Not only did I not get the groundhog day one, but it hurt my head to watch, id say drop it. The crazy train just seemed stupid, and the pokemon "rock the boat" had to be the worst one. There is nothing funny about it, nothing there visually, its just a rocking boat matched up to a bad song about a rocking boat...the lowest form of AMV.

Dyslexia and typing what is off the top of my head, does not allow for well formed writing. If I was to take my time it would be far more readable. So that would be 20 years of writing I have been told I don't make much sense. Its either keep going and improve slowly or give up.


All my opinions were just mine before going back and reading each page to gauge everyone else's opinion. It is much the same, while there are always a few clips some like other don't. Its universal on the really bad ones.

I didnt even take into consideration the video quality or lip sync and even the worst I saw. Watermarks! I forgot those were ground rule banned after AMV hell 3.

Even had those thoughts during it however forgot them. Such as I stared at Death Note Nyan cat going "This isnt a clean opening... that's bad work." however I forgot it.

Haruhi "single ladies" I could not help but stare at the bad quality of video, again I forgot that as a point.

There was about three other clips I just stared at the bottom right going "watermark?!".

Alot of the bad quality clips don't have any value. The Ranma 1/2/Jem is a nice idea just video and audio isnt good and editing is off. The Editor has said he is going to clean that one up and I hope they do. However the editors for some truly awful clips haven't owned up to them.

I am just in shock over it, just blabbering to deal with it and come to terms.

i believe alot of people who give feedback have slight fear of trimming out basicaly 75% of the current amvs, so the **** ones are voiced out while the meh ones are jugled by opinion.
heres a question.
would you watch the same clip 10 times? how about a 100? or even a ****ing 1000 times without geting bored.
if a clip satisfies the first option. keep it. if not it will be just dead weight.

I say harsher, first new clip is Dungeon Dice monsters (fancy playing the GBA game again) With Stephen lynchs "D&D" and immediately remembered its easier said than done. I donno....**** off. Decent I say decent.

"Angel deserve to die." this comes at a bad time, after seeing the old SSGWNBTD Evangelion video to the same song and having hundreds of little great bits vs this that has none. He did a full 3 minute video well edited together so many well synced points, **** even the original audio was synced in places, which may have been due to technological limitations or editors artistic flair. That even...you know what? **** off its **** kill it.

Touhou clip. Its not bad its not good. Id say cut it not realy worth it. However I did like a little bit of the editing and the "little Bow wow in the basement" was kinda funny. Cut it.

Excel Saga, Tenacious D "he is just a man" Its ok, its kind of good. I think its clip fatigue from allowing me from enjoying this one. a maby.

Hellsing "bring me dat ass" The idea could work if it was edited better, might be out of sync. Current for its a no.

Dragon Ball "Perform this way" Its sort of a good idea. Its sort of weak. I could go missing and no one would look for it.

Tetris Yugioh. Eh I dont think its a good clip and that's before you think about the washed out colour in it. Kill it.

Oran High "Simultaneous Loving", its sort of ok, editing is good in places and other it seems off, If we get rid of the last clip of Oran doing the same thing basically this could survive. Its ok.

DBZ Southpark "I have no power." Editing is a little off, I cant tell of the joke since well its a sound clip I know whats going to happen. I suppose armed with that it was up to the editing to wow me....it didnt. Id say cut.

Evangelion 2.0? 3.0? Sonic. Its ok if cut short and never cut to shinji! However I am left going "The ****!" over simply Evangelion it self. HOW THE **** DID HE BREAK THE SOUND BARRIER!? Maybe there is a good reason despite being a big Eva fan I havnt watched the new .0 versions......clip confused me to really judge.

I am taking another stand. There is a glaring lack of effort in alot of these. I remember when splicing stuff in was often done to add impact. **** some AMV Editors undertook crazy tasks like Splicing Cowboy Bebop and Trigun with a Japanese rap song called Tainted Donuts. The work in that! The final outcome!
Even through out AMV Hell such little nuggets of awesome have been done. Think I am losing sight on this.

Hellsing with Archer Clip. Its sort of ok, if more effort was put in the editing it would have been good.

Am I the only one who felt the Hercules clip was too long? Everyone says it was perfect and it just wasn't for me. It was better than the rest sure, but it still dragged on way to long. It got it's joke across, and then kept going.

There are times when a video drags too long (Often this is the case.), then there are times when a video is cut too short (Mostly happened in minis.), and then there are times when a video is just so damn good you don't care how long it goes. The hercule one was one of those.
