AMV Minis Challenge #7: K-pop
Entry Period: Sept 04 - Oct 1

This time, I'm asking you to make a video using K-pop. Why? Because Korean pop music is friggin' awesome, that's why!
If you aren't too familiar with K-pop, that's ok, I'll post some of my favorite songs below to help give you some ideas.

The song also doesn't necessarily have to be in the Korean language. Some K-pop groups have released songs in other languages like English or Japanese. These songs are ok to use too, as long as they are still created and sung by an actual K-pop group.

Edit: Some people have been asking if parodies or remixes of K-pop songs are allowed. After some deliberation, I have decided that they WILL be permitted. Just please don't subject us to tons of Gangnam Style parodies >_<

I think we'll have to try hard in order to keep this one from becoming the same 3 or 4 artists/songs all the time.
If I'm gonna make a clip I'll be sure to use some Narsha or Kahi.
Now comedy though that might prove difficult.

I thought the metal challenge was hard, but this one might take some thinking, and a lot of listening to songs. Never really listened to a lot of K-Pop before

Know of plenty of groups, artists etc. concerning K-pop.
Have a pretty extensive backlog which I can use.
But using the two to comedic effect, that's gonna be hard.

I think I'm going to skip the 90's challange and focus on this one.

Call me skeptical, but most K-Pop songs aren't even in English, how is this supposed to work? O.o

Things don't have to be in English in order to be funny. You could create something funny based around the melody or beats or whatever or the general "feel" of the song.
Is it gonna be hard? Yes
Impossible? probably not.

Yep, this is probably the toughest challenge so far. But as Shuiia said, there is still a lot of stuff you can go with. Also you can try for misheard lyrics like in challenge number 3, because there are a ton of those. There is also lots of bad English in many songs that you can work with.

Why was Psy's gangnam style popular across the world despite no one outside of Korea understanding what he's saying? A lot of people loved the video that went along with it. Without that video it would have never went viral like it did.
