AMV Minis Challenge #8: The Fox
Entry Period: Sept 18 - Oct 15

This challenge will be a bit more focused than the previous ones.
I just want to know one thing: What does the fox say?

I want you to make a clip based on the new hit song "The Fox" by Ylvis (http://youtu.be/jofNR_WkoCE).
Now, you don't have to use the song itself. One of the many covers or remixes would also be fine. You could even use some completely different audio, as long as it still makes an obvious reference to the challenge at hand.

Ok, I liked this challenge angle at first, especially with the types of music (metal, 90's theme) that could be used.

But a challenge based on one song? Can this really represent AMV Hell in a positive way? I mean, overuse of audio has already been a complaint among AMV Hell fans, how is this going to help?

It's iconic of the Hell series to massively overuse things. A challenge using a specific songs embodies this aspect of Hell, and as such is quite fitting even if undesired.

The one song concept was explored before with amv hell championship edition. Most of the people around now probably don't remember it, but lots of wildly different videos came in for each individual song for that.
I thought it might be interesting to try that format again, at least once. The requirement is actually a lot looser now too, since I'm not really requiring to even use 1 specific song, just an idea embodied by a song.

But, if it turns out to be a flop, we won't explore this same kind of challenge again.

CE was one of the worst things to come out of AMV Hell simply because of this overuse. It wouldn't have been so bad if we just saw the best video using each song, but no. We had to watch the same song over and over again until we were utterly sick of it. How many people loved having dozens of 'Halo' and 'Always videos in past AMV Hells?

This sort of behavior will in no way benefit AMVhell (or any artistic endeavor) and is not desirable. "someone please make a video with the foxy pirates from one piece" would be the preferred way to express your sentiment. </being pedantic>

Lets see, if I could guess the animes and video games to be used in this challenge I'm guessing: Fruits Basket, Naruto, Spice and Wolf (she looks more like a Fox, you could get away with it), Yu Yu Hakusho, Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Metal Gear Solid (Grey Fox), InuYasha, and One Piece to name a few. As long as its done right (good editing, syncing, video quality, etc.) id vote for a One Piece clip with Foxy.

I have the DVDs, but I can't seem to get the software to extract the video correctly. I'm so technologically impaired at this. I have FormatFactory, I just got Handbrake, and this is all so techy sketchy for me, my brain can't handle this. :confused:

I have Adobe Premiere Elements, for the time being. And I think I got the hang of HandBrake for now because I got the materials I need.

It might not be to bad we might have been ultra creative and stuffs.
it's not like we had to stick to using the same version of the song, as long as it was the fox song we wrre allowed to use an version of it.
