A fairly decent entry, some of the skits were a bit "Meh" (I'm looking at you number 3) but they were balanced out by some of the others. In the end I'm gonna have to vote for #18 because it tickled me in the deepest darkest pits of my humour.

The rest either dragged on too long, weren't funny or a combination of the two.

My favorites this episode:

01. Awesome start to the episode, very well done. Second up for me.

05. Haven't seen aott, but this just fit to well. I gotta give it my vote for having made the best use of the theme imo.

08. Haha Awesome, Metalocalypse has got some great moments. The overlay could have been done better, but you made this one fit pretty well.

12. Dubstep jokes have already been done a number of times before, but I still liked this one. The transformation catches off guard.

Some thoughts on the entries, because I take things way too seriously around here:

02 – Mami Xmas – This could have been cut a little shorter, maybe trimmed the 0:40-0:49 part. A joke of this sophistication doesn’t really need a whole 20 seconds to be told.
When I saw Santa, I crapped bricks.

04 – Knock knock – The goggles-guy has his back to the door in the second shot, but he’s facing the door at the end. This may be a quickie clip, but it still didn’t look right.
I’m not familiar with the video source, but weren’t there any shots of him facing the door that could have been used instead for the “who’s there” cut?

05 – SanTitan is coming – Short, simple, funny. You don’t even need prior knowledge of the show to get the joke. Perfect.

06 – Loco Locomotive – So, the characters are hanging on to a line attached to a crazy train… what’s the joke?
I’m not trying to be mean here, but did you actually play this back to yourself and think that anyone would find it funny or entertaining in the slightest?

If you said “Yes”… you may want to get a second opinion before submitting next time.

AMV Hell hasn’t had much luck with this song in the past. Hopefully someday, somebody might actually do something amusing with it.

07 – KokCon the brain – I knew we couldn’t possibly hope to beat this iteration of the clip in the Tennis thread, hence the scene change I implemented… regardless, I like this one.
That eye animation might have looked nicer using frames however, it looks too Newgrounds as it currently is.

11 – SAO Dead – I guess this is my catchphrase now:

This entry used an audio source/gag we have already seen/heard in the past of AMV Hell/minis and it didn’t improve or put a fresh spin on the idea. This entry is unoriginal and uninspired.

Ignorance is no excuse.

Compare this to entry 17, which also uses an audio source we’ve heard in the past of AMV Hell/minis (Who let the Dogs out?), the song has been used:

(1) alongside Naruto footage, showing a pack of dogs.
(2) alongside pics of dogs doing… things befitting the content of a zero project.

Now here we have it set to footage of a person getting eaten by dogs.
It’s dark humour, not to everybody’s taste… but at least it’s something different, not just a lazy re-hashing of old ideas.

We all had our chance to re-use old ideas for the first challenge, let’s try to be creative from now on.

14 – Wanna Piece – Again, I’m not trying to be mean here, but entries like these make it very difficult.
We see you’re at least capable of decent video editing with the rapid cuts and shopped-in Santa at the start of the clip, but then you just give up after the 4:15 mark and ride out the rest of the song on out-of-sync lip-flapping.

Bad editing can be forgiven, but is there even a joke to this clip? How is it supposed to be entertaining?

The lack of thought and effort shown here is really contemptible.
This is one of the worst clips we’ve seen so far.

It's depressing to think that given the freedom this challenge allowed us- some of us still fail to do something new.
I wish more people exercised in the tennis thread (http://www.amvhell.com/showthread.php?26793-AMV-Hell-Tennis/page86), there’s been an abundance of Christmas cheer in it recently.
