AMV Minis Challenge #26: Gaming
Entry Period: September 13 - October 10

For this challenge, you will need to make a funny video related to (video) gaming. You can use footage from anime that is about gaming, you can make a video based around a game itself, or pretty much anything you want to do, just so long as its related to games in some way. Anime is not a requirement.

Just record audio from an emulator or extract individual sound effects from a rom.

Can't get clean sounds from a recording. I was wanting effects separate from the music and music is never muted in an NES game

However, this does leave me wishing I had had a way to record some of my most hilariously stupid game playing moments from the past.... So with the challenge being gaming, if I were to use audio from a video game and then have the clip match up to and be based around the audio, but the video clip itself had nothing to do with gaming, would it still count for this challenge? I know it's a long shot but I want to narrow down my ideas.

I just made my submission, but to be honest I decided to borrow from a video I did for April Fools this year. I didn't know this site and video series existed until after I had completed it and was alerted of it, but it was a video very similar in style to what you all do. Mine simply focused on the game Phantasy Star Online 2 instead of anime.

I changed my mind on giving up, as I gave up way too quick only to realize it just takes a little adjustments to speed and very intricate scanning, and now I got a working AMV. I'll say it may not win many votes, but I did this because of this one moment in the game that had me make this.

This factoid should've been obvious.....

For every clip that makes it into Hell, there's.....well, I can't place a number on the amount of bad entries since I'm not Zarx. My guess is that it's more than 10, at best. Probably more along the lines of 50 or 100....

There was at a time 270 accepted, 320 maybes and 370 odd rejected clips. Considering only about 30 clips escaped the maybe pile, that was 600 extra clips not used. It was a really huge turn out. I am sure we went past the 1k barrier in total clips, wee milestone folks cheered for If I am not making **** up.

so assuming the ratio is exactly the same each time; that means there's about 1 **** clip and 1 "almost but not quite good" clip for every clip that gets accepted (whether said clip is worthy of acceptance or not....). The ratio is probably at least a little bit different each time, but for now let's just assume it's always the same.

There's been....how many "giant enemy crab" clips accepted? At least 5, from what I can recall. Going by the 1:2 ratio, that means there were at least 10 more "giant enemy crab" clips that Zarx had to suffer through so we didn't have to ourselves. 15 clips in all. Still not an exceptionally high number....but high enough that the joke is old and overdone.

Chances are the exact, actual numbers are higher.

*edit* all in all, I'm glad everyone decided to be at least a LITTLE bit original with this challenge.
