I'm making this because as far as i can tell there isn't anywhere on here to just sit down and talk about what you liked and disliked about an anime. Nobody is allowed you flip out on anyone here! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Hmm lets talk about Soul Eater. I kinda liked the ending, but, like most animes, it was left wide open and leaves you saying, "Well, now what?". The characters were great and full of character. The openings were epic and had a great catchy tune. The only thing i didn't like was the "Its all from the heart." cliche ending. I absolutely loved when a character woul go berserk and tear the place up, and i like how Dr. Stien and his usual craziness (and how one episode was almost entirely a hallucination of his). What did you like/dislike about Soul Eater? Do you think that there will be a second season?

Highschool of the Dead was kinda interesting in that way, they swapped out the order which the episodes should go in the manga storyline pretty much just to develop minor character relationships

heard it was canceled, and its only an OVA series anyway. still, it follows the origional manga, and it has more gore than Elfen Lied and Gantz put together!

I personally think it's inbetween because Supernatural is a pretty good show. Plus, anime needs a comeback from, what I like to call, the "moe surge". And I'm pretty sure a thriller like Supernatural would do it.

My main issue with K-On is pretty much what LOLWTFBBQ said. Here is what I found to be pathetic:
-K-ON, a show about being in a music club and playing music (somewhat)
-Angel Beats!, a show where music only held importance in the first three or four episodes, had better animations in the performances and, though this is my opinion, better music.

Finished Code Geass R2 finally today. WOW! that ending was absolutely amazing! It nearly brought a tear to my eye! I figured they were going to pull a Death Note on me and have Lelouch degrade into insanity, but nope. Great stuff! It was somewhat unbelievable that the world became a peaceful place because they were all angry at him, but i'd imagine that no anime is completely realistic. What did everyone else think?

i was wondering are school based animes like marmite you either love em or you hate them i mean i like k-on,lucky star,azumanga and school rumble but a few of mates don't like them due to there lack of plot.

well clannad and kanon were both shows based at schools. and i think the general population will agree that they were good. plus, those both had some pretty involved plots. they were more about going places and finding out about interesting people Also, obviously, everyone likes Azumanga and Lucky Star. Those had plots in a different sense. There sure as hell was a lot more character development in those than in anything else. you could more easily connect with konata because they spent 26 episodes talking about what she liked and disliked. it's more like a different type of plot, instead of a lack there of.

my personal thoughts, i like shows with moving plots more. i'm not big on japanese humor, so i'd rather have an advancing story. something that you don't know where it is going to go.

i can agree with that. i always like shows that have original ideas more. "a robot lands next to my school. i jump in it and save the world" is not an acceptable storyline anymore.

Anyone every notice that a lot of the demon and vampire shows look alike? Claymore, Hellsing Ultimate, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Devil May Cry, Trinity Blood, etc. They all look alike. Right?

Well, little girls help sells in Japan. If you add either little girls that are as smart as a child with down syndrome or a harem with lots of fan service, the show will sell a whole lot better.

What I can't get over is that people act like they haven't seen it before. Kamen Rider Ryuki practically did the same plot and pacing except better. My-Hime and Sailor Moon has done the whole "LOL darkness mahou shouju is serious business ;_;" before. Lain did the whole "erasing self from existence" thing before. It has all been done before except better.

Heh... Just finished Bakemonogatari. Apart from the never-ending lines of dialogue and the snail-pace moving plot, I can't say I didn't enjoy it a lot. And, although there are barely two action scenes in the entire series (each of them barely going over three minutes and an entire fight that is decided only by a single roundhouse kick 10 seconds after the fight begun), when they finally get down to it, sh*t gets real for such a slow and dialogue based series....

Well it's working, you're not going to miss that much plot, slightly more than if you missed an episode of squid girl. Also I don't even accept that she's the best bleach character (though being a secondary character automatically puts her high) you're not going to convince me she's the anime character. BTW Shunsui Kyoraku, best bleach character.

Well, let us do the math first.
There are 520 episodes of One Piece, currently. Now let us assume that the average episode length is 24 minutes. If you want to catch up to the show, then you'll have to invest at least 12,480 minutes/ 208 hours/ 8.66666 days. Do you want to invest at least 8 days watching One Piece? And we aren't including the movies.

There will be. Probably a sequal season for Railgun before it though. The light novels and manga sell like hot cakes, and J.C. Staff knows this. Not to mention that the anime left off near an important part.

when I made my big "anime to watch" list, several friends highly recommended One Piece. I calculated that I could watch either that or almost 40 single season (13 episode) anime. so on that basis I've ruled out one piece, at least for a while.

also I'm running into some nomenclature confusion, as Hulu calls the series Negima! master Negi magi and Negima!? master Negi magi, which is different from the names everyone else uses. So what is the difference between them? Are they different like FMA and brotherhood are? Did they give Season 2 a different name for ****s and giggles? is one entirely filler? does it make more sense to watch them in a certain order? etc. sorry I ask so many questions.

Mahou Sensei Negima is a series that follows the begging volumes of the manga, however since the manga is still on going and was far from complete it only covers a very small portion. And the ending is completely different than that of which happens in the manga. When released with an English dub this series was boxed as Negima?! (don't ask why, I think they did it to confuse people).

Negima?! is a remastered version that in the beginning follows the manga and the same way the first anime did but then branches off and has significant changes in its adaptation of the story including but not limited to differences in the magical system and added characters. A second manga called Negima?! was released to follow the story line of this one. As far as I know there is not an english dub for this series.

Most of the OVAs you will find are excerpts from later parts in the manga which the original and second series will never touch. There was rumor at a point that if the testing audiences went well they would release yet another anime that would follow the manga to the letter and do it in a style similar to the OVAs which personally I would like to see.

That's my knowledge on the subject, and yes it is very confusing. Please ask more questions if you have them.

The gundam in the manga resembled a regular RX-178 and Evangelion Unit 2 did not have the jet pack. However, in the adaptation the gundam resembles AGE-1, and Evangelion Unit 2 is wearing a jet pack that is similar to the one that was shown in the 3.0 movie trailer. Subliminal advertising?
