Would you consider A Scanner Darkly an animated movie or just a weird looking movie?

I would personally say a weird looking movie since it was just a cell shaded overlay on filmed actors.... I think.

Ah, rotoscoped. I was thinking, making "animated" music vids from that movie and some clips from Archer, but it'll be years before I ever get around to it anymore. (Good computer pawned to pay bills. Damn this poor economy.)

I cannot for the life of me find a copy of that movie. Best Buy is really trimming its selections these days.

Just "get" the movie another way. I keep finding copies of it at Walgreens for $3, but that's just me. The movie is really weird to watch, though.

Considering the fact the original story was written by the same guy that wrote Blade Runner (original title "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep") it has to excel in weirdness and crazy symbolism in some way.
And Walgreens for $3? There's one down the street. I might just try there...

I got that thing on DVD - was really cheap too.
Bizarre film - I hear it's a close adaption from the original story. Go figure. But it's good. Worth a watch.

But is it a cartoon? Well, kinda... It's vague. Let's just say it's both and neither.

Read the credits. They have animators listed. And it's a good movie with a great twist.
