If Adult Swim or MTV could clear and obtain the rights to the AMV Minis to broadcast during the programming, like say, Family Guy's episode ends at 11:24, then play a random AMV Mini episode, then go to commercials.

It would be nice, that's all.

It would be nice if IFC would air AMV Hell movies (3, 4, 5 can easily work, maybe AMV Blitz).

But, alas, it'll never happen.

It will never happen, but would be awesome if it did. :(

On a different note in the same song, anybody knows how to setup an IPTV channel, or should we just stick to YouTube and other like-type services?

We should stick to youtube, IPTV sounds like to much of a hassle. Unless we have an expert in our midst. That would be super cool though.

But AS or MTV would never do it because of the copyright costs, now if we did something with media that was just from Turner things, they wouldn't have to pay anything for it on AS. Like if we used old cartoons such as Superfriends, PPGs, Scooby Doo, Dexter's Lab, to any music licensed by Turner, the copyright wouldn't be an issue. Then it would come down to if the Exects would put it on the air. But AMV Hell or Minis would never make it.

The legality would be along the lines of a Daria episode, as, those had limited-use rights granted for the pop music that each episode had. When the episodes were shown on The N after the MTV run, the music had to be all changed. Super Mario Bros. Super Show also had this problem with the music.

Running an IPTV channel may not be all too hard, as a computer, just running iTunes' playlist with all the video files can be created, and then left on repeat all. The output of the video then can be sent to another computer that just encodes it into an IPTV channel and that would be sent to the proper protocols and codes for usage via a service, though nothing comes to mind. YouTube informed me that AMV Hell 3 is a walking copyright violation, though I replied that the songs are usually between 15 to 30 seconds sampled, and if a nut wanted to listen to that small portion of the song over and over . . . well, their copyright complaint is moot, as fair use as been defined to be 30 seconds and below.

Another easy way, though borderline criminal, is to get into a TV station via VPN, upload a file, and then go into the video server software and add the file to the playlist at a specific time. However, I would never do this, as it is hacking into a VPN, which is privately owned, over an open line, like plain IP.

am i the only person who also thinks it would be great the for the clips from amv hell to appear on national t.v is a good idea.
i mean everyone puts alot of effort in to the videos but only a select amount of people get to see them.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amateur_television That might work, but it'll take some money.

Again, if the proper licenses and clearances were obtained, it could easily work. Adult Swim would be the natural fit, though, IFC, Sundance, G4, one of the MTVs, Fuse, etc. Or even be an onDemand feature, sure.

If it were to take off like that, the makers of these clips would have a good job on their hands, in some way or another. But still, it's all about fun. I've only met one prude bitch who doesn't like AMV Hell, and she still watches it.

Five to ten companies would be involved in the rights clearances, though. I don't know anything else.

Anyways, it's just an if, nothing more I suppose.

Closest I did was using the Wii's browser, before just making a DVD, or using the iPod.
