Fun but, after all those short audio clips, it feels all kind of strange to have all these sound-clips...
I must say I preferred this season's first (but that's probably because this one was only 5 minutes long, and many clips lasted waaaaaay too long and weren't funny)
Still, a few of those clips were definitely chuckle-worthy (2:13... Freezer's face in contrast to Lean on me and the Kiki's delivery service/One million American dollars were some of my favorites out there!)

Again I'm wondering whether it would be a good idea to try to make an episode where using any of the anime that pop up EVERY TIME is banned. Azumanga Daioh, Death Note, NGE, Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Pokemon, DBZ, maybe even some ones like Berserk and Cowboy Bebop...I doubt I'm the only one thinking, "Oh hurrah. ANOTHER FullMetal alchemist clip." (And no offense intended to the person who made it. I've just seen a few too many at this point...).

Possibly the best way of putting it.

But about the Family Guy ban, with all the crappy videos getting in (including a few of mine in the past minis) and even one that is not even anime related, a ban on a cretin show dedicated to what that one show does the best (being a clip show) is kind of absurd. Just say there is a limit of so many clips from each show instead of downright banning it.

Quick reasonable fix for the Family guy thing...Best 2 or even best 1 gets in...if not I can easily see someone starting a "Lets all submit South Park or Drawn Together or some other wildly popular show and nothing else.

tl;dr I wanna see at least 1 GOOD Family Guy clip...and with 1 submission a week its not like Zarxrax will be flooded by FG submissions.

Well, there HAVE been some good family guy clips in the past. The Fruits Basket/Automotron Nucular Neo-Android one made me hoot the first time I saw it. And I thought that that one particular sound clip worked really well with Crayon Shin-Chan during the last season of minis....

...and I'm saying this as a person who can't stand the show. But sometimes parody can make the best out of a rotten bunch of bananas.

Still....overuse is never good. Too many bananas leads to a LOT of Raffi music....

I did see some of those scenes used in one of the FMA skits in AMV Hell 3 (namely the "Short People" one)....but I'll agree that it was mostly it was new stuff. Once again, I wasn't going after your clip in particular.

That said, I recommend that in the future, when you make skits using sound clips, you try for a little more "PUNCH". I could tell there was a punchline here, but it didn't have quite the right impact; for me (this is just one opinion), clips using dialogue need to deliver a pretty swift punch, leave me laughing, and then walk out strongly. I'm not saying it was a bad clip (the synching is pretty good, and it's a good idea). I'm just making quibbles and constructive criticisms that I hope will help.

And I applaud your first effort!

That said, the FLCL and Dokuro Chan clips used footage that has been used at least twice, if not more. This REALLY is starting to turn into a problem. It was bad when there was a clip of Julia (from cowboy bebop) dying in EVERY SINGLE NEW AMV HELL (that is a heartbreaking scene....and most of the jokes were actually quite good...I'm just sick of seeing that and nothing else from Cowboy Bebop. I was happy that none of the jokes in the last episode had that footage). But now redundancy seems to be the norm, and it's making these movies a bit stale.

Again, I hope nobody takes this as a personal attack. It's just meant to be constructive and helpful if you want to make more clips. And I'm super-excited to see the next one.

Episode 2 however even on the third time through, it didn't stand out much. But that Giga Puddi video was possibly the best ending out of the bunch. But that video also pisses me off a little because I had a Giga Puddi one from Bobobo for the next AMV Paradise. Oh well there is always my hidden meme video for AMV Hell 6.

I agree with this. There was some that completely through me off at first, like that Higurashi one; mostly because I didn't hear the lyrics clearly but the choice was clever and it's grown on me since then. Also there were 2 clips in particular that were simply so undeniably perfect that anything that comes after that features those two anime will pale in comparison. I speak of the clip with the group of yaoi fodder boys who treat girls like they're boys and that Best Day ever clip. Simply brilliant.

Episode 2 on the other hand.. It made me realize how much I like those good clips in the first episode, as well as those clips that I felt were -too- short but still great nonetheless. The only noteworthy clips in this episode were Feel Good Inc, Take a Piece of My Heart, that gay one, and the fake zombie one.

I suppose Episode 1 had the luck to consist of many more clips though, but still I think Episode 2 was a pretty drab episode overall.

Also, that damn song about fire being out of control should be banned alongside Family Guy. Absolutely tired of hearing it.

And the exact same thing happened to me with the first episode.....it grew on me a lot when I revisited it. A few videos have really stuck...one in particular...

As much as people complain about NGE clips, I loved the "Strange Brew" video. Atmosphere and good music sometimes decide whether a clip is just appropriate or dead on and unforgettable.

Franz Ferdinand - This Fire is the name of the song. It feels like I've seen it once in every amv thing starting with amv hell 3. So tired of it.

EDIT: The eminem song about fire was one of the ones I actually wanted to see go longer, as after hearing that one particular bit to completion before, it just felt odd for that FMA clip to end like that.

Yeah. The 7 second limit did mess up some clips that would have been good had they gone on longer. For example:

-Cowboy Bebop/Flinstones: A lot of potential in that idea, and the clip still made me laugh. But a longer one would've made me a bit happier.
-The Panty and Stocking clips using "Devil Woman" and "Big Time" would have been better if they had more running time.
-"What's My Age Again"/Howl's is a PERFECT combo that would be classic with some more scenes.
Hell, maybe we should make a "special" edition of that episode, replacing the skits that use songs that have been WAAAAAY overused (Where's Your Head At, Date Rape, I Think I'm A Clone Now) with extended versions of clips like those.
Probably won't happen...ah well. It's nice to speculate.

^ Well, any AMV using any sound clip can be funny. That's the best thing about making AMV's; the possible combinations are near to infinite.
Unfortunately the trick is, of course, making it amusing enough.

Anyway, I doubt banning clips just because they come from something that has been overused isn't the right method with which one should proceed; it's kind of like not letting someone on a bus because he has two noses.
What really counts is the fun we should get out of it; if banning Family Guy clips leads to equally cheap AMV's NOT using Family Guy (equally overused/unfunny songs and sound clips), then we're getting nowhere...

Just as Humnut said before, it's more important if a clip is funny or not rather than the audio source.
(I personally despise Family Guy to the 7-second clips, but that doesn't prevent me from finding some of them funny!)
