This one is actually really good!

My only complaint is that these "K-On!" clips are getting boring.

Also, I'm pretty sure the Clannad and Lucky Star clips had already come out on other internet videos (like AMV Heck).

And I guess there will be no Wolf's Rain, Samurai Champloo, or Cat Soup until I learn to make AMVs and get my own ideas in here....

Wow... I have to admit this was one of the better episodes of the season (up to now) as well as Ep 1, especially for the commercial references.

Among the most notable ones, the Looney Tunes/Chobits one made me chuckle... a lot...
The Clannad/Through the fire and flames was nice to watch, if it hadn't been that I had a similar idea using the same scene and a similar idea but, as usual, due to my inability to decently rip DVD's and edit videos on my Mac, I see yet another idea going down in flames... (TT _ TT)
The Mentos clip had instead something of almost epic to it, and was really enjoyable to watch...
The CaramellDansen and I Feel better/Ah my goddess- South Park clips, on the other hand, were simply... 0_o (still, just as fun to watch...)
All the rest of the clips were all fine and chuckle-worthy.
My only regret, I have to say, are the K-On/Hard Rock Hallelujah (Sorry, but nothing will replace the original Excel Saga clip from AMV Hell 4...) and the Teen Girl squad (just as SarcotarascusN said, already used in Amv Heck, and surprisingly similar to it as well...)
Anyway, on a personal scale from 1-10, this one deserves definitely 8.75!

Ah, so this was the one that has the crappy looking video submissions. Good thing most were still pretty darn good. And it got much better as it went on.

I say, average to slightly below average compilation, but who asked for my oppion anyways.

If it means the videos have less originality and higher overall quality I would rather go back to seeing old jokes used then seeing some of the new lumps of <insert nasty sounding object here> making it into the AMV Hell mix.

Perhaps we could organise another round of voting threads for the second season, as a focus for more positive thinking.

In any case, I enjoyed this episode - none of the clips were duff, there was decent variety, and it had me smiling throughout.

I also think that people are being far too quick to condemn something as "overused". Just because the same song is used in more than one clip does not mean that it's played out. There are many more variables - different context, different pacing, different emphasis, even different stanzas of the song - which provide more opportunities for humour. I certainly wouldn't demand that everyone be fawning sycophants to the editors, but equally knee-jerk automatic disdain and exaggerating the impact of cosmetic matters (it doesn't matter if the same song was used, is it a good skit?) doesn't equate to profound insight, either. I get the impression from snippy posts like Backmask's that some people are watching videos with a scowl and their arms folded, determined to dislike it.

So you're telling me that if someone only submits clips of Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece with some Lincoln Park song, I should just let him continue? If my son keeps drawing on the wall, I should just let him "do what he does?" If a monkey keeps throwing his **** at a wall, I should just let him continue? It's all about variety. I don't mind listening to a clip from a certain song, but when the second clip has **** syncing, which is usually the case, then, yeah, I'll point it out. Also note that there have been many awful clips that haven't been rejected, so don't rely on the judges too much.

We, the viewers, are allowed to put our input on whatever the hell we want. If we think a band sucks, we aren't going to make a band just to prove that they suck, or prove that we can play better. That would be pointless. Once more, expect some damn criticism.

Making a statement on how one could improve their clip isn't necessary. If someone wants to know what they could do to improve their future clips, they can just ask.

I wouldn't say that you're at fault, Zarxrax. I think that the onus should be on the editors to alter their behaviour on this issue - they should approach an anthology AMV primarily out of a creative desire to contribute to that project; promoting their names is an added benefit, not an end in itself. Consequently spreading the same skit thinly across multiple compilations, resulting in criticisms like the ones in this thread, is plainly against the spirit of the game.

ya I saw that clip before, I had nothing to do with it
and I had no idea about it exciting before when I made my clip
I made my clip just out of the idea of the joke being clever that's all

and besides, it's not all entirely the same
different scenes have been used and a different ending as well

Alright, I just finished the episode and thought it was great.

The episode had a lot of great clips that I would say made up around 85% of the episode.

I'd like to point out though that the "Dead or Alive: You spin me right around" (with the girl spinning the baby) clip in Season 2, Episode 1 has also been used before. Not sure if Shibbidah is the original creator, if so forget it, but I can't spot which vid I saw it in, could be one of the AMV Nightmares.

I would have also said the "Is anybody out there clip" but that was from AMV Paradise so I don't mind that :D

This was a solid episode. The clips were good, and seeing as I don't really watch other compilation videos, I didn't see any repeats. It's kinda ridiculous to expect Zarx, Zuiichi or Chewi to go out and watch every single AMV Hell knock off out there to try and find repeat clips, isn't it? But anyways, I really liked the Teen Girl Squad clip, I was laughing my ass off at that. The lip syncing was pretty good, and if I remember correctly somebody on here is always bitching about that. The Loony Toons joke as well was worth a hearty chuckle. I'd give this episode a 9/10 rating, great job everyone!

Ture, but during the Paradise 2 dilemma there was a reasonable excuse. Zarxrax sent out an April Fools joke causing a few people to discard their clips they thought got deleted and send them to Paradise 3.

While a self made compilation like the one that this guy made and used his clip in is simply getting his material out to be viewed by a larger audience, the act of using a clip created in mirror of someone elses idea is wrong.

Making something similar maybe using another show like Azumanga Daioh or Some other show would have been fine but then it tosses in the "This joke is old" complaint. Which should be changed to, "Only top quality videos make it in" Who cares if a joke is overused if the video just works? Harsher judging but acceptance of every source material would be one fix.

Finding the facts and the differences between plagiarism and spreading ones own work is why I still suggest we need someone checking the clips background. Problem solution #2. It is not like it is hard to do, seeing as how many people notice the used clips.

And his clip was maybes 2sec.
I showed this episode to my sister and she actually laughed at that part.
It may be a bit to obvious for some of us AMVeterans.
But I'm glad episodes are made with a wide audience of every kind of sense of humor in mind.

Zuiichi is the harsher judge in my opinion so I believe he wouldn't have passed it if there was a better short clip that could've filled its place.

You don't need to know how to sing in order to know when people suck at it, not knowing how something operates does not make you an inept person, hell your using a computer right now but do you actually knows how it operates? humor is something that anyone is capable of understanding and doesn't require a crash course education of video editing to understand that somethings are just funny, if i video has crappy quality chances are that the joke will suffer because of it

I try to do stuff that not many people would even think about using... I also tend to "research" and check to see if it has been done by anyone. One i'm currently working on has never been considered before (that i can tell from youtube or animemusicvideos)

You don't need to know how to sing in order to know when people suck at it, not knowing how something operates does not make you an inept person, hell your using a computer right now but do you actually knows how it operates? humor is something that anyone is capable of understanding and doesn't require a crash course education of video editing to understand that somethings are just funny, if i video has crappy quality chances are that the joke will suffer because of it

well it says to hurry up with the non-anime clips - so i submitted 2 just now as says the 1 per week rule was removed.... but the one i started a while ago that i thought might be operfect for an episode like this -

i still not sure how to finish it - and would probably have to restart it with a better quality version of the video content as the one i was using is kinda meh.. so unless there is another episode like this at some point - my other clip may never make it XD. but oh well - maybe try to finish it in my spare time when/if i get a chance :P

This was much better than 2 & 3, though I'd still rank it behind episode 1.

The first minute and a half was fantastic, up until that not funny violin one and then it went on to lag a bit with a little jump in quality here and there. The bagged a noob would've been much better with proper syncing. I really enjoyed the DBZ clips in this one, though they always remind me of the awesomeness of the one with Kung Pow. The swimsuit contest one went on for FAR too long. Sinatra was superb. Also, I wanna ride that hog. Hoo~ hoo~ hoo~

I will never look at pringles tube the same way ever again.

I hope this means quality will go up now.

Submissions open March 1st 2012 as far as I know it goes for both the Final Fantasy video and Hell 6 (at least for the second one it is)

There is not much else to be said besides it being apocalyptic themed.

Madoka's Pringles too. Just now have noticed similarity between those cotton balls from Madoka and Pringles mascot.
Other Madoka clip with Eminem's soundtrack was fun to watch too.
The same for Lucky Star clip, although Ive seen it several times before. Zarx should add Calvin3's Lucky Star - Nirvana clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vyu6BCzEE30&t=98) in the 5th minis. It even better than used in this current video.
Even Ookami-san's clip have appeared here. Although it was kinda slow and unnoticeable.
Gurren lagan's clip was kinda average. Expected something more impressive for the ending of this minis.
