So I have an idea for amv hell 6 final fantasy edition. It will be a hard one and may not be funny enough, so I thought i'd post it here to see if you guys think its funny enough.

So i want to take the terrible Lalala song from final fantasy x2 and combine it with either haruhi singing or some other group of singers. Thoughts?

Also, who ever suggested tidus needs to seriously rethink their life. Because first off I said I was using x2, second off I was using the audio not the video, and third off, there is nothing about meg ryan, I mean tidus, even remotely likeable! He is a selfish jerk in need of fumigating. I mean, not since cloud has their been such a horrible protagonist. Granted he's been far outdone by snow in recent years, but he is still on of the worst characters ever voiced.

I actually didn't mind Tidus's voice acting, since not every character can realistically sound sexy and/or cute. HOWEVER I still have no idea why he had to end up with Yuna. BS. He's supposed to be ronery then disappear. I liked his lookalike from x2 more overall.

On topic: Overall idea seems meh to me but go for it anyway cause it's hard to tell how it'll be just from thinking about the concept.

Tidus was not the hero of X, despite his constant crys of "this is MY story!" it was really a story about yuna, a girl who must leave here village in order to sacrifce herself for a world she barely knows. She would have made a far better protagonist. That's why as a writer I can't stand tidus

X2 was yunas story, however, I submit that just plain X was yunas story as well. The removal of tidus would have done nothing but good for the game.

I know this isn't quite the point of the topic, but since this seems to have turned into an anti-FFX/Tidus thread, I feel I should offer some defense. The story was good, the setting was good, the music was great, and the gameplay was good. This used old-school final fantasy tropes to a tee, with the exception of the sphere grid, which was also decently incorporated, though it was definitely the weak point for me. I never understood why people dislike Tidus so much, yeah, he could be whiny, but he was no worse than then Cloud, or Squall for that matter, and in some instances they may have been worse. I thought he was relatively well characterized, or at the very least he was no worse than any other square character, and I liked the idea of the story being told from the point of view of the guardian, instead of the main character, it provided a lot of outside perspective into another person's quest. Something neat would have been either a companion game from Yuna's point of view, or an unlockable mode, but either way the game was pretty good overall.


tldr; Final Fantasy X was good, try it for yourself before making a decision.

Did try it, did like it. Most everything you said was true, it had great gameplay and music. (such can not be said for 12 and 13 so it has that at least) But the level up system was rubbish, and the temples? shoving bamboo up your fingernails would be less painful, quicker anyways.

But let me tell you why people hate tidus and not cloud. cause people are morons blinded by nostalgia. Cloud was just as **** a protagonist as tidus. Hell tidus is more than likely based off him.

Now let me tell you why people don't hate squall. Cause squall never flapped his gums. He kept his lines short and to the point. Granted his costume is ridiculous (rust me I own one) but then what final fantasy has normal clothes...

but to really hate tidus, you only need to see one scene, the scene where he laughs. That is worse than nails on chalkboards. and it doesn't help that he's constantly talking about how this is his story when he has nothing to do with it, he's just along for the ride.

Btw, ever play that atrocity they call a minigame, blitzball!

You definitely have me on the voice acting issue, he wasn't the best voiced character, and may in fact be pretty low on the list of listenable characters at certain points in the game (case in point the laughing scene). Blitzball had an interesting concept (battle soccer/football? come on, sounds fun), and at one point in time I actually genuinely liked it (I eventually grew older, tried it again, and realized it wasn't very good), but if they never try anything, they don't know what works and what doesn't. This just happened to not work. At all. In regards to Squall, I actually hear more people flame him than Cloud, which I find funny. The same argument about his short lines could also be used against him as a protagonist, as it doesn't lend itself well to characterizing him as a likeable, relatable, or good person. This certainly has strayed from the original topic.:sweatdrop:

I didn't much care for Tidus and I did like FFX.
Though Tidus is freakin' hilarious in Dissidia. It looks like he's on crack.

Why do people keep harping on about that damn laughing scene?
It's SUPPOSED to sound awkward and forced, hell just look at the original Japanese version, it's no better.

I'll concede that the overall voice quality wasn't great, but if you compare it to just about any 90's anime it seems like soothing music in comparison.
