Would it be safe for me to force remove "QuestBrwSearch" from my AVG queue? It was listed as spyware by the system but I'm hesitant as to if i would be nuking something important to my computer's stability.

I haven't browsed for porn in a while. Hell, AVG listed this as an attack site.

Delete it, it is not a core file to windows, and it is listed a malware

This is an attack site...

Oh, AMV.avi (yes I am derailing this for a moment) is being uploaded to megaupload right now so N.P.C.C. I am hoping that you will be able to grab it quickly and spread it around with me before it gets removed from there. There is one site that will keep it up and alive but I want to get it out to as many places now before i starts getting pulled so the guy hosting will be able to get a copy whenever he gets online again.

How the hell is this an attack site anyway? No less dangerous than 4 chan...Sure, i'll help. You'll have to instruct me on where to spread it though.

Seriously, this is the type of crap i would have expected on gamefaqs...not here? Why the hell would you guys want me to wreck my computer? Are you just trolling or did i piss someone off without knowing?

When all else fails, use Google. You'd be surprised how many people might have the same problem as you and already had it solved in a forum somewhere. I had a bad virus once and went on my mom's computer to find the answer, and after doing a Google search I found someone had posted a quick fix on some computer help site. The virus was a program that opened as soon as you logged into the computer and disabled anti-virus, web browsers and more to force you to pay for and download an even worse virus disguised as another anti-virus program, but all I had to do was open task manager right away as soon as I logged in before the virus disabled it, and I could close its process then get it removed. Neat stuff that Google . .

Maybe it would help if i said the computer isn't nagging me about it. It's just in AVG's queue.

Get a new computer? Yeah right...Worse comes to worse i have an external drive to back the data and restore it to an earlier time. However, that maintenance is tedious and i try to avoid it.

Viruses is definitely bad.

What is it? A .dll? .exe? That would definitely help people to help you rather than just saying "lol is QuestBrwSearch good r bad?"

Im using it simultaneously with mine Kaspersky. It shouldn't conflict with AVG too. Malwarebytes works in different way than most of other real time antivirus software.

Boot your computer into safe mode and scan with "Malwarebytes" (http://www.malwarebytes.org/).
If something is wrong with your registry then a quick run of "CCleaner" (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) is the easiest fix.

The best paid antivirus in my opinion is "ESET NOD32" (http://www.eset.com/us/home/products/antivirus/).
If you want a great free antivirus I would go with "Microsoft Security Essentials" (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials).
(After all, who knows Microsoft systems better than Microsoft?)

I'm tempted not to. I.E. has been going "Psycho ex girlfriend" on me for the past few months by loading up randomly when i haven't touched the icon at all and taking 10 clicks of the "X' just to get it to shut down. It's actually creeping me out...

be a browser pimp. use IE to download ALL TEH BROWSARS!!!! then backhand that IE bitch off your computer (yes it is possible)

then when you have 100+ tabs open (like I usualy do) you can use a different browser to keep the RAM use low and nice and organized

I also recommend getting WinDirStat so you can manage check out your hidden files n ****

LOL EVERYONE SAY YOUR FAVORITE ANTIVIRUS

Yeah- I always keep malwarebytes and superantispyware on-hand in case something goes horribly horribly horribly wrong. They won't mess with anything you have as long as you tell SAS not to start when your computer does- just scan them whenever you thing something's wrong. Otherwise, use whatever antivirus works. Personally, I like Avast, but it gets annoying because it has to announce its updates every. Damn. Time.

Between my external restore and the option to reset the computer to starter state i see no need to do something that drastic. I'm performing emergency maintenance as i have to admit, it's my own damn fault for neglecting it for so long. I'm using everyone's suggestions and things seem to be working well enough so thank you guys for trying to help.

I plan to back up the computer again when it's been cleaned so don't expect to see me for like 6-8 hours soon. (no one cares ):(
