theres a sequel called new moon and the third book is coming out in august or something :D

I definitely know what you mean.

On topic, I've heard a some people say that this is a good series and some say that it's overrated. Any (non-biased) opinions on the writing quality?

For example, is it better than the Aboshen trilogy by Garth Nix? That's a very well written series.

Well, I mentioned it because you might like it. It's about a group of female necromancers in a strange country. It's really cool stuff, very original story and mythos.
