Big Bang Theory is quite hilarious... i think in one episode they were watchign an anime (can't remember which) and penny was over watching with them and was really confused as they sorta tried to explain what was going on everytime she asked a question - its indeed one nerdishly heavenly hilarious show - the new episode tonight was pretty funny........at least something to talk about till 5 comes out XD

I had to make a profile on this forum just so I could tell them that I don't give two ****s if they upload this thing in 500 parts on youtube. If they don't put this video up soon I am going to eat the project organizer's first born.

Well, I think you'd be missing out if you were wanting to watch it that way...
Personally one of things I enjoy the most about the AMV hells is the level of proffessionalism and care that goes into creating and editing them. Call me a 'purist' but quite frankly Youtube quality ruins them and I'd sooner wait another month or two for a good quality version.
Don't misunderstand, I'm not trying to act superior or snobbish (it is very irritating that it's not come out yet), but I'm not sure we're entitled in any way to be annoyed about it. Ultimately we're getting good quality entertainment FOR FREE and if it means we have to learn a little patience we'll all be better for it, in no way do the creators 'owe it to us'.
Can't wait though.

Personally I made this account for the same thing as the impaler, but I've come to realize that there are a lot of thing I can do on the site till it is released, hell, to day I didn't even think about 5 until just now, and that's the first time I've been able to do that all week.
I'm also an online web critic, and you know what, stop demanding updates for FREE ENTERTAINMENT. Its like demanding a normal release pattern from VG Cats, it will never happen no matter how much you shout, so stop making an ass out of yourself

I've been tiding myself over by finding some Hell-ish stuff on animemusicvideos.org. I do have a lot of patience (I wait for 2, 3 years for certain Disney movies, following them since we first got information about them; been waiting for a full year for the latest damn WoW expansion; I sat through all the cliffhangers each week in Code Geass R2, that should say something.), but when I don't have a definite release date, it wears thin. -_-

Plus I'm betting there's a few from doomimus' videos that will make it in, they certainly made their way into minis.
Of course I recommend not watching these unless you're really desperate for more amv hell, you will feel bad inside when you watch them in the final product. Just like you knew about Gordon because you saw the Dark Knight trailers beforehand, only crunchy.

lol I have been with her for 9 months, and she looks over my shoulder a lot, so if she sees the funny, yet negative comments, I cover my ass by mentioning her and seeming happy to be away from all else to be with her lol.
I mention it in different sections due to not all read in certain ones, and not that it is as if i have people who follow my life, but many on here know others personal lives and back stories and I figured id inject some personal knowledge for character development.... I feel like red mage from 8-bit theatre now...

*EVERYONE*...I had a thought today... Me and my friend often watch and re-watch the amv hells together/at the same time. We live over 100miles away from each other so we watch them synchronised via instant messaging, Quoting the awesomeness as we go along.
So my thought was, what nicer way could there be to roll in the number 5 than with a mass synchronised viewing accross the world...? Could and would someone be willing to sort that out?
OR,,, is it already planned and im not seeing it? (in which case, kick me in the crotch and call me Julie)

That shouldnt be to hard pal I got like a bajillion programs that would make it possible. i can do servers with VLC that can hold about 50 people. but it would probably run smoother if we can get a dedicated server on this site. it can handle more bandwidth than my computer alone.

They're basically sort of like file sharing programs similar to P2P stuff like Limewire or Frostwire. Except torrents are supposed to be a bit more "secure" than those 2. I, for one, believe that's "bulls--t." They can be convenient for huge files such as this though, since you can start, pause, stop and continue a download whenever you like without losing progress.

Yes. You must download a torrent downloading program such as Bittorent (www.bittorrent.com/) in order to download and watch it (I'm sure it's not the only one, but it's the most popular, and the one I use when I absolutely must). Once you set it up, just click the torrent link for Hell 5 and open it up with the program.

I remember submitting my "Always" AMV to SSGWNBTD, worried about whether he was getting swamped with ideas/clips with this song.
In my email: "I don't know if this has been done multiple times, but..."
SSGWNBTD's reply: "Accepted. Woo-hoo!"
I probably wouldn't have bothered to begin with had I known there would've been so many, but I guess the director liked it enough to top the credits AMV with footage from mine (though all 4 Always AMVs appear in the credits at least once).
I dunno, I think Phatpug's rendition is the best of them, even if it's longer.

People are blowing the two main gripes way out of proportion.
For the frequency of Death Note - so what? As people have said, there have been popular animes used in the previous Hells and no-one's making an issue of them. Besides, the variety of audio keeps it fresh, and a number of very professionally composed - some of the clips have been my favourites in Hell 5.
As for the frequency of "Always" - again, I must simply ask: take a step back - is this that big a deal? You're talking about four or five clips out of almost two hundred, less than two minutes out of ninety, spaced out widely - and it's not as if they're all replicating the exact same scene, either, but with diverse (and original, in a couple of cases) anime sources which, again, keeps it fresh. Hell 3 did repeat audio in a couple of places itself, it bears remembering. Why can't this be seen in the same vein as the Kaworu and Osaka cutaways from Hells 2 and 3?
These two things are niggles at most - and highly subjective ones at that. People's exaggerated fixation on them is really doing a disservice to the rest of Hell 5.

The difference between the "Always" clips in 5 and the cutaways in 2 and 3 are that they are essentially opposites. The cutaway in was one long joke - the scene shown is one of the longest-held still frames in any anime (if my sources are correct). But cutting back to it with different audio occasionally, they were saying "Hey! That scene is still going on!" while making a joke out of how long it was.
As for the Osaka gag in 3, it was sort of referencing the first one, were the Ellen Feiss gag originated. Fans of the originals immediately recognized the clip, and were amused when it ended in an unexpected way. However, there were so many variations interspersed throughout the whole thing, it was a running joke. Note that with both cutaways, the same video was used, but with different audio each time.
For the "Always" clips in 5, the gag was used 4 times throughout the entire hour-and-a-half runtime; thus, it does not qualify as a running gag. It also used the same song with different video each time (like I said, the opposite of the other cutaways). The thing that kills it, though, is that each time it's used, it's making the Exact. Same. Joke. Essentially a unicorn/horse running set to the song, referencing a flash game on Adult Swim's website.
The hatred of it is not really that it was used too many times, but because it was used the exact WRONG number of times. Once or twice could make the clips unique and funny. 7-10 times would make it a running gag. 4 times is just awkward; too many to be unique, but too few to be a running gag.
Yes, I have issue with parts of Hell 5, but it's already one of my favourites.
