The premiere went quite well. We are going to be making some fixes due to some problems that cropped up, and maybe a few small changes to the lineup. I would expect the download to be available within the next week or so.

Original Post:
AMV Hell 5, directed by SSGWNBTD, will be premiering at Anime Weekend Atlanta this Friday, September 17 at 7:00pm.
If you are planning to attend, be sure to arrive early, because the room will very likely fill to capacity, and people will be turned away.

There may be another project playing immediately before AMV Hell, so if this is the case, please try to be respectful and quiet as you enter the room, so as to not disturb the other viewers.

AMV Hell 5 will be available for download right here, sometime after it's premiere. Unfortunately I can't give an exact date, but we will try to get it up as soon as possible, hopefully within one week of the premiere.
If you are running a convention or other large event, and need to obtain a copy sooner, please contact me directly.

I don't know what to expect from Hell 5. Here's my opinion of all the Hells excluding CE.

1-Okay.
2-Kinda sucked.
3-Awesome.
0-Dirty, but just as awesome as 3.
4-Pretty cool.
/0-Disgusting, but it had some awesome moments (I thought the Haruhi Suzumiya/Boku no Sexual Harassment crossover was hilarious).

SSGWNBTD posted on his twitter that the raw non-intro non-ending length was slightly over 74 minutes. Counting the intro, ending, his own AMVs to be added, and the trimming he's doing to some videos, it should be close to an hour and a half.

MMM...depends.

MF is basically unlimited, but it's a crap site for uploaders as they have a VERY high corrupted file rate.

MU is pretty well even.
It's good for uploaders, and while it may suck to have a cap and wait time between downloads...at least you know 9 times outa 10 the file will actually work.


The speeds for both will depend on your connection.

But that game is GOOOOOOOD...not 1200 hours good, but good.
I've got a hundred or so hours logged on the PS2 version and 50 or so on the PSP version and 50 or so on the NDS version.

I think a LOOOOOONNNG...AMV Hell 5 could work, as long as it doesn't suck and there's:
A) A decent 'running gag', or two...

B) There's a variety in both tone (humor vs srs biz nas) and anime series.

i actually have no problem with it being long since me and several of my friends sat through a marathon of AMV Hell 3,4, CE and all the minis at a convention.

Torrent can work. But with the ungodly amount of people that will try downloading it it will result in a mob. Filezilla etc kinda suck imo. I have used one file sharing site. 1Gb max file size. Unknown download bandwidth though. Give Jumbofiles.com a shot.
I'm actually surprised animemusicvideos.org won't host it on their servers if indeed that's the case.

It will be both torrent and file sharing. Even if ssgwnbtd/Zarxrax won't do a torrent, I can't imagine nobody making one.

I'll be trying to road trip to atlana to see the premiere, but i doubt i can get the time off. and on the topic of downloads. I'd recommend hosting the torrent on 3 or so sights, then loading it to more than one filesharing website, jumbofile is pretty good. rapidshare and MU are the only ones i can think of that are good too. Either that email it to everyone :P

Using The free version of bitlord i get speeds of 7 megs per second on well seeded torrents.

i will also host the file on Secure FTP once I get it, I have a high upload bandwidth so it should Send to you at about 3 megs a sec if you connection can handle it as well. the info for this will be available as soon as the file is hosted on my server (should be within a day or two of the main DL being released). though i would love to host it sooner so that i can help feed the mob of downloaders.

IMO, Hell 3 & 4 are tied in awesomeness. Hell 3 was awesome because of all it's parodies & stuff. I felt like it had a lot more originality. Hell 4 was okay, but sometimes it had those moments where it could top 3 in awesomeness (Excel Saga/Hard Rock Halleujah, Haruhi/Black Winter Night, & the Lucky Star/What's up people crossover). 4 also had a lot more up-to-date anime, which is another reason I liked it.

Yeah, I noticed my Porco Rosso AMV was tinkered with. It helped fixing the too-fast motion clips in the middle, but the white-flash fix made the end of the video go off-sync after the 0:24 mark and have a stutter frame hang for the transition.

That depends on the speed of your isp, what clinet you are using, how many seeders there are and what time of the day you are doing them. I personally like torrents better because you can pause them and resume the download from where you were up to after you turn of your pc. :D

We all know how these cuts work, first they tell us they only cut out one small part,, like a quiz mini video or something of that sort, but then you learn the cut clips Hostess clubs from it to, and your okay with this, you never cared for them in the previous ones, but oh no there not done yet then they decide to remove the Majong clips, and the message parlor ones. Now the people who where relatively calm start getting pissed, but do they learn, no they then cut out about 26 side clips, and leave to the pissed off fanbase to list all that was cut.

I watched the first Ghost in the Shell movie over the summer. i can't believe I hadn't watched it earlier. it was AWESOME! want to see the second one now.

and yea, HOTD fanservice is VERY overly used, it's almost as bad as Ikki Tousen (and that's saying something). the boob matrix was just laughable, it didn't even make sense.

I was actually fine with Highschool of the Dead's fanservice quotient (except the boob matrix, that was retarted) because I think it contrasted with the death and decay of zombie appocalypse and kept the show from turning into either a completely action or completely horror and stopped the series from only appealing to one fan base.

I read the manga first, and the fanservice in that was rather perfect (speaking about chapter 6 and 10, you know the parts) because it had a fitting touch to break the morbid horror. chapter 6 was deffinately the best because it had boobs, khota being a scary mofo, and Takashi telling Rei to get a life.

I think madhouse did a great job at the start, but then they spent all their advanced animation budget on the boob physics, and considering how all the girls (except that ditsy nurse) are in highschool, and would be very concirned if they all had a rack like that IRL.

@Kajimura: Yeah I saw Sekirei 2 and I also saw Asobi ni Iku Yo, which was also another bullet boob like anime this past summer. Sekirei series kind of brought in the boob fanservice from the start and it was heavily emphasized so I guess that's why I was not as surprised compared to HOTD's boob matrix scenes.

I do have to emphasize that HOTD's bewb scenes are in no comparison to Queen's Blade retarted series. All it took was one episode to make me have this o_O face. They might as well labeled that series as hentai.

Well having a BAMF lead with nothing else to really support the franchise has worked great for God of War, all they really change from game to game is passable writing to terrible writing.

The only reason I can think of for the excitement is that it's based not on what the game has shown but purely by the fact that it's coming out
